MORE NELLY! no we need a variety no just one genre and not everyone who sounds the same not MORE CRAPPY pop tunes or remixes and covers MAKE SOME ORGINAL STUFF! we NEED VARIETY! R&B, Soul, Pop, Rock, Dance, Hip-Hop, Rap whatevah the fact is we need more variety.........and maybe less sexually related lyrics.......

First and foremost, lyrics written by the artist. If they can't write lyrics for shit then that will weed out the untalented pop artists woohoo. This isn't to say there isn't plenty of great artists who write their own lyrics around. But we can always do with more I guess. Oh and less lyrics about being loose, promiscuous, maneating nymphos.

I think that lyrics are a huge part but it depends what music. Like I think theyre very important in Folk music but not so much in RNB.

That's because all you need in an R&B song is to have lyrics about love. 99 percent of R&B consists of love songs, especially now. Akon is the only modern R&B artist I know that makes songs that have nothing to do with love or relationships ever. Probably because of that Akon is viewed as a rapper more than an R&B singer by some people even though he is an R&B singer not a rapper, he just has some songs that are more traditionally associated with rappers.

Something different,that?s why i like to listen to music in other languages like italian, portuguese and english!!!...
