Are you a fan of Country music?

one year ago I could never imagine that one day I would start to listen up to kind of music, because i always thought the country songs only talked about religion, how much religious the interpreter who sings them is, or about relationshipswith an unhappy ending (such as someone's death, an accident) which are based on some veridical stories...

and I remember me that I was used to think the only listeners of Country music were (supposedly) the people who live in the rural areas in the Southwestern United States... I thought the Country music was a style of music whose target public was the cowboys and whose songs were only played on the rodeos...

but now I've been changing my mind about this music style, since I've started to listen to Carrie Underwood's songs, mainly and everybody already know all the reasons that make me like her...

so I'm creating this thread with the purpose of talking about the Country music (because I think this is the first thread about this) and also trying to meet the country music perfomers better and who knows to meet other new artists...


Are you a fan of Country? what do you think about this music style? Do you listen to Country singers often?

Exactly. Plus, some country music has great qualities, like it's heartfelt and the music is really rich, the sound is a treat to the ears. I really enjoy bluegrass especially. And, I have become a fan of the Dixie Chicks, so there you go. You shouldn't snob music away cause it'll catch up with you and make you fall in love with it and eat your words

I am a New Yorker thru and thru and its like a SIN to like country, but as a kid I was forced to listen to it, its all my mom played and we used to go south in the summers...so I know alot but its not my preference but I can tolerate it. Now that I live in the deep south I hear it more and more...and I must say its mixed into my everyday playlist...I love tim mcgraw and faith hill and I have seen them in concert...as well as rascal flatts and carrie underwood...i think taylor swift is ADORABLE and if you like Carrie youre gonna love Taylor...the new country stuff is great... but i must say theres so old skool country groups that i like such as alabama, and so forth...for me it depends on my mood...first and foremost i am a mariah carey, nelly furtado, alicia keys girl...but country is ok

I had the same thought one year ago, and now I'm an admirer of Country music... I could even say this musical genre tends to increase on me, and I can notice I'm more interested in listening and (specially) knowing this genre better...

I think there is something around the Country music that makes them become in anything which is special, which is kinda magical... the Country songs usually pass good messages (which are very heartfelt, they come from the bottom of someone's heart), that's why I guess Country's songs are worth to check...

I find Dixie Chicks great too, and they've become even more after the all difficult times they had, just because Natalie was courage enough to speak her mind out about the US president and also about the Iraq War. They had, unfortunately, such a difficult time, they even were threatened with them, and the majority of their "fans" boycotted their concers, the radio stations never played their songs anymore...

and I think it was such a huge unfairness, because everybody is free to have her/his own say about any issue (theoretically we are) and I bet that the a huge majority of people who boycotted them, thought or still thinking the same as them... that situation could only prove how much hypocrisy and paltriness there is in a country which is called United States of America...

about Taylor Swift, I've been listening her songs too, and you're right Tifanny her stuff is very adorable and enjoyable to listen.... I'm being addicted on the song "tears drop on my guitar", i really love the lyrics of this song...

and I must check a song which is singing by Brad Paisley featuring Carrie Underwood, but i don't remember the name of the song now though

I love Taylor Swifts Song called Tim Mcgraw, but Im hooked on teardrops on my guitar too, brad paisley is cool, i first started listening to him like 8 years ago or so he has this song...he didnt have to be..and it just brought tears to my eyes i enjoy him as well
