Totally agree!!! In fact, Wait For You is my favorite song of the album, I have said it before but I think that the mix of ancient sounds and modern beats suits just awesome with the one of the most powerfull lyrics in Loose.

lol I don't think it sounds like something Jennifer Lopez would sing and it doesn't sound like that Brooke Hogan song. I like Wait for you because as Cooby said it has a mix of ancient sounds and modern beats and one of the most powerful lyrics. I like the lyrics a lot, they're meaningful. And I like singing just like a movie...yeah lol over and over again and the chorus too.

Totally desagree. I can't feel anything like Jennifer or Brooke in this song, no matter how hard I try, I can't find the similarity

I agree with Cooby. No way, it doesn't sound like jennifer L?pez at all. But I do think Wait For You is the most un-Nelly sounding song she's ever recorded to date.

i heard "afraid" today at !ndigo (books, music, more) while getting myself a chai latte. i sorta wanted to linger around and sing along but i had to get back to work

"Wait for You" has become my favourite song on this album.

And I disagree, Maca, I think it's the most Nelly song on the album for the following reasons:

- She blends in a South Asian/Indian percussive beat to a North American pop song to the point where you absolutely believe it belongs there.
- She does a couple of different and interesting things with her voice towards the middle/end of the song , like where she goes "ahh ahh ahh" in soft high pitched voice.
- The very emotional delivery of the lyrics.

This song just takes me away. So many good things about it. It takes wing and takes off (like a bird, ha ha ..).
Then there's the lyrics. I don't know if anybody noticed, but the lyrics are pure Bollywood (she even directly alludes to this, with "just like a movie.."). I mean you could't get away with cheesy, syropy lines like, "I'll wait for you until the rivers run dry (or whatever) in a regular pop song without sounding like Celine Dionne. But if your theme is Bollywood Hindi films, you can because that's all they are about.
Then there's the breakdown. The song seems complete and ended when she delivers an emotional vocal finale, the music cuts away, but then the solo percussive beat cuts in for the extended breakdown. Great.

I think this song would make a great third single. It has a well defined beginning, middle, and end. It's like a mini story in a song, and that's why it would be successful as a third single, I think.

Lastly, I don't think 'Say it right' would make it as a single. It's just not a typical song. It's like building up to a crescendo, but then trails away. It would probably be unsatisfactory for most listeners.
Does Nelly even decide what songs are released as singles, or is it the record company?

hey missing origin thats REALLY weird that you heard do it in american eagle because i work there *and ill ignore the comment about shopping there LOL* and we have company cd's that get played in the store and we're only allowed to play those that come from the company (most dvd/cd players in the stores are fixed so that they can ONLY play company cds.. i know hardcore eh).. ive worked there for 3 years and the only nelly song thats been on any dvd/cd is powerless... OH and now promiscuous...... so the store must have been playing a non company cd (which is against the rules)...
