Well I was thinking that the biggest soccer event is coming up so we should have a thread to discuss the games, check out our fave teams/players and comment about them.
I can't believe tomorrow it's starting, how exciting!!!!!!

The first game I'll [probably] watch is the English squad, then Argentina vs. C?te d'Ivoire and then of course the Dutch boys the next day.

I hope to be able to catch at least a small part of the opening ceremony and they hopefully see Germany lose in the opening game. We'll see what happens, I am looking forward to Argentina - Ivory Coast, England - Paraquay and of course the Netherlands - Serbia.

Ukraine is my dark horse that just might surprise a lot of people.

I'm going to wake up early to check the opening ceremony and after that Germany's game and mmm to be honest I doubt that Germany will loose. I'm really looking forward for group C games!

You said you will wake up early.. and now I remembered the Japan World Cup. It was so cool! The best cup ever.. we had to stay awake all night to watch some of the games. We started drinking around mid-night.. the game was 3:30am.. and then we came back home at 8am.
hehe.. that was crazy.

Group C will indeed probably give some nice matches, and so will Group E I think, with Italy and Czech.

I'll go strongly for the netherlands, they have a nice team to be honest! Argentina seems to go great as well! but well anything may happen

I wouldn't be Dutch if I weren't pessimistic about my own country..so it's Brazil for me

Of course I do hope we will make it, but I don't really see it happening. Maybe only if we start really bad, and then learn our lesson and do our best.
And I'll be the only Dutchman that supports Germany, unless we're meeting eachother that is
