bonjour is an unknown quantity at this point
Unhappy why?

hello. i would like to ask Nelly something really simple
exactly in what moment your songs turn to be so common, in fact i am a fan of whoa nelly, which is totally different from the last 2 albums.
however, with the second one, i had some issues also but it was good, not like the first one but well.
But i have just finished watching you last video, promiscuous Girl, and i really want to know where is my Nelly, where is my whoa nelly?? sadly for me, you just turn out to be a hollywood artist, doing what the other stupid singers are doing, with rappers, and with people dancing in a "promiscuous way".
please, for the next album i would like to listen to better songs, like well well, and the songs that have your touch, your culture, and not copies of the other 1000 singers songs, with no personality.
Right now i feel so dissapointed, I feel my idol has vanished completely! please, moving you ass, and talking as if you were in the middle of an orgasm in your video? , i imagined that for people like britney spears not you Nelly.
bye
Carol

Re: why?

Hi,
sorry to say that, but Nelly won't probably come and answer. She hasn't answered so far =/

Many of us had the same fears. We - including me a little bit - thought our "old Nelly" has gone and stuff. But I recommend: Don't judge too quickly. This might sound like I'm a wiseacre, but this is what just happened to me. The whole album isn't going to be like Promiscuous. It's different and new, yes, but it has definitely a great style we all know. Nelly was no One-Trick Pony and she isn't by now.
So before you blame her, listen to the entire album. It's definitely worth it!
At first I was surprised like hell but I have slowly learned to appreciate and even to love her change...which is actually a development - in this case change sounds too bad. Today I would probably be unsatisfied when she hadn't changed a little bit.

Loose has also some old-fashion tracks. There are always new influences but when you watch the forums you'll see that most of the "old heads" love these tracks. On the bits main page you can listen to the streamed tracks of Loose (as far as I know...I'll wait till Loose is out, but I've already heard a few of them ).
Once again: It's a must to hear it, especially when judging about it...

Re: why?

BONJOUR, KEEP on DREAMING. Do you think she is gonna do her next album differently just for you?
"didn't think so" - Nelly Furtado
I Think Fans like you are just gonna have to live with her new style. If she does a new album, I can assure you it will be the same style as LOOSE.
Loose in my opinion is the best Albm she has made so far. Loose is on the road of selling mor albums than Folklore and Whoa Nelly put together.

Re: why?

Go listen to some of the other songs on "Loose" there are some retro-nelly-esque songs on it.

What does that prove? Look at the biggest selling artists at this moment and they're utter tripe, and in most of the same vein as this album!

It's all promotional bullshit, flaunt a bit of skin, act "gangsta" and use inuendo to sell records. I think it's sad.

'Think I'm wasting over a tenner on it, got another thing coming.

Re: why?

So far all the songs I have heard of the original album stink, but that is not due to the actual songs but due to the production and arrangement. I can't stand the single versions of maneater and promiscious girl. Last weekend I heard the same songs performed live and acoustic in the Radio 3FM studio from the Pinkpop festival here in Holland and these stripped down version really sounded quite good. Therefore I hope that Nelly will decide to get rid of the shitty artists (crap rappers) she worked with on loose and the new image she's has now and return to here old self. I only dislike the songs from Loose that I have heard so far, so maybe there is still hope.

I think you fell off the tuna boat.

Like Joey said go listen to the other songs there are songs to suit everyones needs on Loose. I also think you are over reacting, she's 27, she's not a 21 year old and the rest of the songs on Loose are not like the thousands of cheesy artists out now, Why do you think Nelly is making a killing with her new songs? its because there are not like the shit people are putting out. I promise you there are only like 4 real Hipity Hopish songs on Loose the rest if you close your eyes you'll swear its from Folklore or Nelly covering Madonna songs(which for me makes this album a personal top 10 of mine ).

Believe me when I first heard Maneater my jaw dropped I had to shut it off the first time I heard it I was disgusted. Now I'm really into it and feel what she is driving at with it and its cool once you get by what I believe to be Timbalands singing in the intro.

Re: why?

They should re-name the album to "Faux, Nelly!".

*edit*

As no-one laughed at my incredible joke I can only assume you didn't understand.

"Faux" is pronounced "Fo" and means 'fake'.

Thank you, you may now laugh your jolly asses off.
