Who's your idol?
mine is rapper Tupac Amaru Shakur (which some of u may already know from my name, Makaveli is his alias)
in his music he is considered as the best hip hop poet of all time. his music covered everything from life, death, love, hate, revenge, struggle, and so forth. though his music was mainly targeted at african americans, half of the people who listened to him were also white people which shows how touching his music was
some examples include:
Changes - encouraging african americans to fight through racism and be accepted
Keep ya Head Up - trying to stop senseless brutality against women (such as rape)
Life Goes On - dedication to people who passed away, (this song has actually been played in many funerals)
Trapped - giving his perspective as an african american having to face against social impact with white people
outside of his career he dedicated alot of his time to help out people struggling in the ghetto and standing up for his own people who are under hostility from social conflict with white people. his Thug Life (living "Black Life" due to the social and economic oppression that blacks are faced with) had code rules which he got many people in the ghetto, including gangs such as Bloods and Crips to agree to this Thug Life conduct. these rules included things like, no senseless brutality, dont rape women and respect each others to try to make bring peace to one another
unfortunately his career was cut short due to his "death." it was NOT because of a east coast/west coast war which u may of heard, the media was just bullshitting about it to start shit and create headlines - it was really a death row records vs bad boy records. so thanks to the media they ruined it for him. but hundreds of evidence reveal that he is really alive and faked his death to stop this rivalry that erupted between east and west. he is alive and in hiding but its doubtful we see him again in the future
so pretty much this man tried to make this world a better place for everyone and many of the things he said was very encouraging with his music and life, these are the things that make him my idol
