When did you first hear Nelly Furtado.

I'm not very sure but I think that the first time I heard Nelly, was in december 2001 with TOTL, I was on holidays so I saw and heard the video and I fell in love with her music :-D

I think it was when I heard her sing I'm liek a bird in 2001 ( I think ) on an award show in the UK, but I also went straight out and bought the album, that and folklore are my 2 favourite Cd's lol!

I saw her video and saw that her eyes changed...it was cool. But I didn't like the video...I liked Turn off the Lights better. I was sick the summer of 2001 and randomly started downloading various songs by her because I was bored. and look I fell in love.

I first heared about Nelly, when I was reading a review of "Whoa nelly!" in a magazine, called "break out!". At that time her video wasn't even on t.v. yet, neither was her song on the radio. I never heard about her. And the reviewer said about the CD that he liked the songs, they were nice pop songs, but the voice of the singer wasn't very good. And for some reason her name stuck into my head, and then one day I was watching the box and they were showing which video's were new and added this week. So then I saw a small clip of I'm Like A Bird and saw the name of the singer, it said Nelly Furtado. I immediatelly thought about the review I once read and I called to the Box to request the video. When it started I immediately liked it and knew Nelly was going to be huge. And I remember thinking: Wow, how can a new artist have such an incredible new video?! Because to me the video seemed quite expensive. But, yeah, that's my story of finding out about Nelly. And even until now that video for "I'm Like A Bird" is the best music video I've ever seen. I just love it, and everytime I see it, I get the same feeling when I saw it the first time.

I'm like a bird in 2001, I just liked the song at the beginning. Than that summer I went on holiday to Praia da Rocha in Portugal and it was the no. 1 summer hit of that year. The rest is history.
