well im on the chubby side, i try so many diets a few work, but i pile on the fat after

whats you diet and how do you loose or remain your wieght

When my gout attack's aftermath is 100% gone I'll start jogging again. 4x p/week around 6 am. Maybe I'll wait until after my 2 weeks off work.

But I also really should cut down on the chips and candy. A wee bit more variation in food would also not hurt...then again I am not really too heavy, not at all; my weight is on par, but I know I feel better the moment I start jogging again.

Oh and I also spend 2x 30 minutes on the bike, 4x p/week going to the office and back but not whole year around. The last few weeks I did and also this week.

Well since i'm a bodybuilder, my diet is extremely strict, I don't eat any junk or fast food. Mainly I eat very high protein diet, with moderate fat intake, also I cycle between low and high carb day's, for example, I will eat low carbs for 3 day's, then I will eat high carbs for 1 day. I cycle my carbs so I can stay lean and still add muscle.
For anyone who needs to lose weight the first thing you have to do is lower the total number of calories you eat each day, this number of calories you need will depend on how much you weigh. I would suggest that you get 50% of your calories from lean proteins, 35% carbs, mainly from fruits, vegetables, and whole grain foods, then 15% fat, for the most part healthy fats, like nuts, fish, olive oil, etc.
Then I would suggest that you do some kind of physical activity, adeast 4 times a week 45 minutes each session.

I try to eat a balanced diet...I try to stay away from fast food. Oh yeah, an apple a day keeps me healthy, lol.

I also run down the beach a lot.

Balance is the word..too little fat is bad, to many fat is bad. The same for every other basis nutrient for your body. my advice is not to buy any expensive book or method that make you lose 20 pounds in a short time, after which you're so physically exhausted that they will be back soon after.
Instead change little things in the life of every day and make em part of it: take the stairs instead of the elevator, go to your work by bike instead of by car, eat one cake at 3pm coffee time instead of 2. Then when you're used to this all and doing it without any trouble, or even without noticing, you can change some more things. This way is much more effective on long-term, and financially favourable

ooh and my diet: normal dutch food, some fruit but not 2 pieces a day that are said to be necessary, and when i feel like some junkfood. I've always been to light for my age and length, and i can eat and do eat very much without gaining weight, in fact i mysteriously lost over 10 pounds since this winter and i dont know why

I agree with that. I'd stay away from Fad diets....i don't think they're for everybody and they can alter your metabolism or somethin' I like the no-carb diet.....I dunno how Italians or asians would be able to endure it, lol.

Just everythin in moderation...exercise...and common sense.

although there's always room for chocolate...I can never give that up

my diet is a strange thing

i eat as little as possible as rarely as possible and still manage to gain wait

i run a mile and quarter every other day and almost kill myself doing it

and i still gain weight


i'm just destined to be fat, thats all.

About 5 months ago I made the decision to join a gym and start eating better. I had gained some weight and could see it slowly rising so i decided to do something about it.
I go to the gym 3 or 4 times a week and do about an hour and 15min work out, doing cardio, weights and abs and strength. the gym actually designed the programme for me and it seems to be working very well.

But I have incorporated this into eating much better than I used to as well. I no longer drink Coke (which I used to have at least once a day, usually more) i mainly don't drink soft drinks at all, except for maybe a lemonade or soda water if i'm out. I don't eat all the chocolate and lollies that I used to either, i make sure that when i'm home i'm not snacking on junk and every night i have a salad and fruit with dinner.
I'm not saying I stick to it all the time, because I have a very sweet tooth and I love all things sweet like cakes and chocolate etc! haha but I try to stick to it as much as possible.

it seems to be working i've managed to shed 8kgs so far so i'm happy with the results so far

i think the key is to work out what works for you and try to incorporate regular exercise with eating better and it should work... just gotta stick to it!

oh and if you are gaining weight while you are working on your muscles etc that would be normal coz muscles weigh more than fat... also, when going to the gym or doing regular exercise, apparently what happens is you lose weight at first and then after about 6 weeks you put some back on again and then the cycle starts again...

i give myself 2 months to get to my ideal weight hehe
