love Nelly Furtado not only because she is a great performer but also because of her point of view about life and the world.
She is not ashamed of being a descendant of Portuguese. She likes to be Canadian and Portuguese because this means that she knows two different cultures and the more she knows the better she can be as a performer and as person.
She plays and sings with feeling. She doesn?t care about selling a lot, she wants to share her music with her fans and make them feel like her.
She helps us to have a critical opinion about our world. She is not like other Pop singers who just want to make money with songs that are meaningless and are not written by them. Most Pop singers can?t sing well and are just worried about their image.
She doesn?t sell herself what she says in her albums corresponds to her ideas. She doesn?t change them just to sell more albums and this fact makes me admire her more and more.
I think that If we know a little bit about her and her ideals, we can be better humans.

think the song ?Try? has the best lyrics.
As you can see, the words in this song mean something. The song is about love, real love.
It is not a happy song but as she says ?that?s life? and we have to accept life as it is. It talks about us, about our feelings.
?Try? has very philosophic words, because she criticises our society and what love can mean.
This song is also based on the view that she had in her Azores? holidays in 2003, when she saw a woman hanging chothes.

For me, Whoa will always be Whoa, it was and still is an awesome album. I didn't actually join here till I saw her live back on 24th November 2001, it was seeing Nelly live that got me hooked deeper than ever. I mean, I had Whoa and liked the songs but I hadn't really given it a good listen until just before I saw her live, then during her performance something clicked in me. I still remember parts of that performance and how I felt during it.

Folklore is an amazing album as well, and i still play it lots, probably not quite as much as Whoa but I don't skip any of the songs on it either. I never got to see this album live so I don't have live memoried to go along with my thoughts but Folklore is still one of my favs. Folklore came along at the right time for me in my life, as did Whoa, it made sense to me when I heard it.

Fav tracks include: SOTR, TOTL, I Will Make U Cry, Onde Estas, Try, Explode, Saturdays, Get Ur Freak On

I'm one of those Nelly fans that has been around for ages and will be here for a long time to come. I love the fact that Nelly changes her style and I get really excited to hear new songs from her. I got excited about Folklore and all the collaborations, I got excited over Whoa in the beginning to when it clicked for me. I'll get really excited about the new album to show what I mean, when i read that msg that she left, the last one on SOTR.com that was heaps long, I was in tears reading that coz i was so happy to hear from her and hear about the new album.

Nelly's music is something that I'm very passionate about.

the Spaghetti Incident for GNR was sweet! even though it was a bunch of covers "Since I Dont Have You" had a cool intro! But for GNR I would count the Use Your Illusions albums as there last self written Albums to be judged for creativity, "November Rain" was a master piece and "Estranged" as well! enough about Guns N Roses, Nelly is at the age where I belive she is in her prime and really has been in her prime since "Whoa Nelly" for me its hard to sweep "Explode" and "Try" under the rug but I will admit "Whoa Nelly" was more upbeat and thats what appeals to people on a large scale which is upbeat songs, "Powerless" was kind of a reference to "Whoa Nelly" though, thats upbeat

I don't know if I can say all the songs i love from nelly.. they are too many! But maybe I can say a couple of songs, let's try : One Trick Pony, Explode, try, the grass is green, Picture perfect, saturdays, build you up, childhood dreams, shit on the radio, i'm like a bird, turn off the light, trynna finda way, my love grows deeper, i will make you, onde estas... And that's all if I don't forget anything .

And about Nelly... I really admire her, she's like an idol for me. I love her music, the way she changes the style of her music, and the fact that Nelly loves Music as me, and she's not worried about the selling... that's too important for me, cuz nowadays the most of pop singers (singers?! They can't even have voice!) only care their image, or it doesn't even matter for them, because they only care money, and do anything to sell something that some people call "music" .

When i bought Folklore, i thought it was strange, cuz i had never heard something like that (I got Folklore before Whoa.. it's long to explain, so don't make me write lol). Folklore made me discover the real music, cuz until that moment I didn't know what music really is and means for me. I love folklore more than whoa for that reason, but the first Nelly's album is also too good. When i was smaller I always saw nelly's videos (from Whoa) with lots of admiration. Folklore and Whoa are too different, but also too good, though I think Folklore is more mature than Whoa, because of its lyrics and melodies.

Haha ok fair enough. I was trying to think of someone you could relate to well, and I was a bit like eeew for Spaghetti Incident so didn't give it much of a chance. I forget it wasn't really written by them. Estranged is my favourite, maaaybe behind Don't Cry cos I dunno I've just always loved it the most. Anyway you don't have to convince me.

I really dislike Fresh Off The Boat. I dunno why I just don't like anything about it lol. I also don't like the album of version of My Love Grows Deeper. I think the alternate version is 1000 times better so I guess that's why I don't like the album version much. Saturdays is cool but it's not a song you can just keep listening to too much. Plenty of artists have tracks on albums that aren't meant to be completely serious or are just little experimental bits or something, so I have no problem with that. I guess I just mention it because I'm often surprised how much people like it. I think it would be good to hear properly recorded. Forca I don't dislike but it's just not my kind of thing. It was cool for what it was intended, a song for Euro, but I can't listen to it very much.

Everybody has there dislikes and likes, I mean I think its almost imposible to like everything somone does, I never cared for "You Aint The First" on "Use Your Illusions 1" that sorta song just wasnt my bag! but otherwise I loved the whole dual Disc set they put out you mentioned "Dont Cry", I love that song its a cool ballad, and for some reason the video for that and the song in gerneral reminds me of "Try" in a weird way I guess, if you watch both music video's you might see what I mean
