although I've a little idea; can you- you english speaking folks- explain to me what a "one-da-dum" is? my little 500-word-emergency-english-for-tourists-dictionary doens't contain this expression ;-))
it's in the baby girl lyrics.
Does it just mean something like "one unit", as I imagine?

haha pony good?? I love it. IIII personally thought it was "get on it girl, get on it girl, it's gotta price tag on it yeah..and hear this sounnddddd.....she does use the word girl in it so...yeah but I dunno I could be wrong haha.

I Know you're talking about the song "Baby Girl" On her first album...I am a native speaker, but I honestly believe that she was saying I just wanna be what?s best for me..."to be one-da-dum with my own star under my own sun" ... I know she says that for sure, but I believe the "da-dum" part was actually there to make it sound a little bit better, to get her rhythm right...and she was saying, in my opinion, that she just wants to be one, with her own star and under her own sun..but she added the "da-dum" to make the song flow better...But I'm not sure...maybe someone else can say otherwise .. if I'm wrong...

Also, I do not believe that "One Trick Pony" actually has a real chorus, because what from what I hear it changes each time. I interpret them as:
1. So slow down; One-trick pony
2. So slow down; And hear this sound; One-trick pony
3. So back down; To the ground; And chill out
4. One-trick pony; Ride ride ride

But who knows, I could be wrong..and I came up with that as I was listening to the song so I had to type it rather fast, so I set it up that way...
