I think Passion was a great movie, but I do think that it was REALLY overdone w/the word of mouth thing. I cried during it like everyone else, but I wasn't going OMG, this is the best movie ever to everyone else (though there was a religious revival directly following the movie - no lie )

See I didn't find it emotional at all. I know the story. I'm Catholic. However, I still just went oh yeah this is cool...hmmm what am I gonna do tomorrow?

One I definitely agree with is Trainspotting. I have friends that hail it as one of the greatest movies. Another I put in the same category as Requiem For A Dream. I know a lot of people love these movies but I think they just try to shock and be "arty". I'm not a huge fan of all those films where you don't know where things started or finished at the end of the movie. Quentin Tarantino's are done very well, but even him I'm not always entirely impressed with. Jackie Brown is another one I've always just got to the end of the movie and gone ok so I watched it again like you told me and it's still just dumb lol. Like don't really get the point to it. Just big long stories where the climax is basically the entire movie, and once you reach the end you're like so why did I bother watching the rest?

ummm....peewee.....Jackie Brown was never highly praised....everyone, including me, hated it. But I love Pulp...I think I saw like 400 times by now....one of those films I never get bored of...that's just me tho.

I agree about Trainspotting and Requiem....they were...blah....and not the type of movie I'd see over and over.

Ahh okay I knew it was no Pulp Fiction but I've heard a number of people who like it just as much...I don't remember if it was highly praised by critics or anything...just know from the opinions of friends, etc.

I think Kill Bill Vol. 2 suffers form the same thing as Jackie Brown.

Oyeah, I haven't seen the total LOTR trilogy, just a little too much if you ask me. And I think the movies where more hype than movie, it want like they were so original or broke new grounds. Just a normal movie.

Scarface, Al Pacino di great imo. He was a bad ass. But yeah it aint the best Gangster flick, people only focus on the violence in that movie. And that soundtrack was some real 80's stuff. It certainly is a must see.

Last time I wanted to rent another drug movie, Fear and Loathing In Las Veags, they didnt have it. But they had the whole Police Academy series on dvd .

Most of the times I won't see hyped up movies till they are long time overdue and everybody kinda forgot about em.
Oyeha one movie peoplekeep hyping is Battle Royale, I'm not saying it aint a good movie it's cool and all, but you got to see the serious flaws in it.

I feel the same about LOTR also. I wanna read the books before I see he movis though. I disagree w/you on Kill Bill. That is seriously my favourite movie (I'm talking vol I&II). Action w/so many oddities and crazy stuff that it's hard to not love. I've never seen Jackie Brown and I won't waste my time now, but I do really wanna see Pulp Fiction!

I saw where Kill Bill came from, and it's now like stealing vs. Ode.
