Re: UK, US, Canada or Australia?

Hmm well being from Australia I know what the big deal with the artists here is hehe, they're great. My favourite bands (Sneaky Sound System and the Rogue Traders) are from Australia and I like a lot of artists here but our music industry isn't that large so I can't say that we have the best. Canada is good for Nelly and others, the USA has a very large music industry so is obviously going to have some good artists.

But my favourite is the UK. They have such a diverse musical range.. M.I.A., Mika, Amy Winehouse, Joss Stone, Mark Ronson, Lily Allen, Groove Armada ... I love them all! The UK is superior to the rest musically. That's just contemporary artists too, what about artists like Queen, Oasis, The Verve, etc..

So yeah, the UK!

Re: UK, US, Canada or Australia?

It's of course different for every person. For moi it's Canada mainly because of Sarah McLachlan & Tegan and Sara. Three Canadians who were & are very important to me.

i just think that theres more new and different music in the UK

Very true, when you talk about Australian music, you really need to include New Zealand as well, not that I listen a lot to urban/hip hop/rap music very much, but you've got guys like Savage, Scribe, etc etc coming out of NZ and hooking up with some pretty big names in that genre of music....

The other thing to be aware of is that the Australian entertainment media has a tendency to adopt Kiwi stars who make the big-time..... (media journos are such losers)

Re: UK, US, Canada or Australia?

I don't know, from many different countries many talented artists come from. But I think if an artitst climbs up to billboard(off u.s music chart site) you can call him international artist not national anymore, I mean if american artist breaks trough u.s charts there is no matter where he's from, he climbed cause he got talent not cause he is national singer.
