Thank you.
to be honest, I've some difficulties to understand what Timbaland is saying! He has a very very coloquial accent!
basically timbo says he cant say much due to legal stuff.
hes saying he didn't steal the beat. his definition of stealing is "its like i went to your house, heard you make a beat, stole you protols and went back to mine and said 'yo i got nice song' "
he says he sampled it from the commodore 64 videogame which did not give credit of who made that sample. he said he had to deliver by a certain time so there was not enough time to research the people who created the sample or something along that.
I guess that's good enough. Really, why couldn't you sample something on a video game in a new situation? I'm glad he's admitting he had heard the beat before, and I agree, to call it stealing is extreme.
im happy he cleared this up! i was worried peeps were going to go insane about it!!!!! so im hapy his said this!!! thnx for posting!
LOL. Saying he got the beat from a video game was a pure lie. He didn't. And he's probably saying that because the low bit rate of the C-64 machine he used to make the beat will sound like a video game.
ANYONE who knows about writing music will know that Timbaland's statement of "stealing is like going to your house and blah blah blah" is dumb as *expletive*. No, Tim, stealing is taking a complete melody, throwing a beat on it and not giving credit to whom you got the melody (and chords and etc.) from. Seriously, what this dude just said is disgusting. I've lost a great deal of respect for him.
