Ohhhhhh its so sad how he died. When my sis told me i was so suprised? hes been around since i was little!

Yeah, someone who watched the tape said such morbidness should be destroyed. which i think it should. i doubt anyone including steve himself would want that shown. but then again i dont know him. see, if it was someone in my family, i would not want it shown for sure so im just going of that gut feeling.

I think theres 2 ways to look at it.

1.(Reason for showing) Steve's work on Sting Rays might be in vein if the footage of what happened isn't Analyzed to find out what pissed off that Sting Ray exactly so it doesn't happen to others.

2.(Reason Against Showing) For the family's sake its a hard thing to grasp and shouldn't be shown openly, maybe just in the scientific community if anything.

I'm not saying I would watch it, (cuz I dont think I could handle that) but I think someone should do a report on it and learn from it so we can make sure Steve didn't die in vein and his work on that day will be put to good use.

I was surprised when I heard of his death and especially how he died, (admittedly, I've always been wary of 'rays whenever I saw them, but more because of the barb they carry, I didn't know that they were also poisonous). I was also very surprised to hear that attacks aren't unknown and there's around 17 deaths per annum from stingray attacks, (worldwide), although they did say that these events aren't commonplace.

The one that got Steve was one metre across at the wings so it wasn't exactly small and the barb it carried was around twenty centimetres....... ouch

So sorry for his family and I'm also really bloody annoyed with comments from expat Australian Germaine Greer, who's been living in the old country for the past 30 plus years.... She never liked Irwin but to criticise him after his dead really takes the cake....

Germaine Greer is just trying to get attention. Nobody cares about her anymore so she thought hey that guy has always gotten on my nerves i'll speak out and say the animals finally got him so the world knows my name again and someone might actually buy my next book.

What was worse was whoever interviewed her on I'm not sure Today Tonight or A Current Affair? I just heard it from my room without going to see it. He was awful though and it was like he thought well everyone is disgusted with her comments so I'm just gonna make her look like an idiot and make fun of her and tell her she's a dipshit and I can get away with anything. But he just ruined it cos no matter what she has said that we disagree with, at least she was mature in the interview unlike the interviewer.

I still can't believe that man is dead! Awh! WHAT A SHOCK! And so horrible! It's pretty funny though.. like in the second day of when everyone was still finding out, I was pretty sad and what not, then they showed him all in action and I couldn't stop laughing. He was just way too awesome. What a great man.

I heard it on the news they were theorising about his daughter Bindi, and they said she might lose all her passion and might be a lot less colourful without her dad being around. I really hope she doesn't hey, that girl is gorgeous and has tonnes of talent.

Such a sad sad loss, and for the first time in my life I truly believe that 44 is really an extremely young age. He had so much to offer. And stingrays kind of suck now. Except for Mr. Ray from Finding Nemo. <3 He is still makes seaweed fun and cool.
