i for one am not going to assume that these 2 tracks are any indication of how the entire album sounds. if you know nelly, and we ALL do, you know that she is ecclectic. think of it this way: she is using these hot tracks to lure people in and get their attention. once she has them, the rest of the songs will keep them because they will probably be much higher quality, lyrically and musically.
i am going to have faith.
besides, they are both fun songs. nothing wrong with that. they hardly showcase her lyrical prowess, but i do enjoy her voice in both tracks. i am pleased with the results and i am not going to be so pessimistic to label her a sell out just yet.
of the 2, i like promiscuous girl better. i like the dialogue lyrical technique a lot.
i wish people would stop labelling sounds and pidgeoning holing artists. it is people like that who create boundaries and stereotypes and then get upset when people don't live up to YOUR expectations. she still sounds like nelly because she IS nelly, remember that. who are you guys to tell her that isn't being true to herself? that is pretty pompous if you ask me. i am not saying everyone has to like the direction she is headed, but don't be so selfish as to say "this isn't nelly". you do not have that right, sorry...
