Slow Down, Nelly!

Does anyone else think that Nelly is releasing her singles way too fast?

I mean, "Say It Right" was released before "Maneater" got a chance to really peak. When "Say It Right" came out, people around me were barely realizing "Maneater" was even BY Nelly, they thought it was Gwen Stefani.

"Say It Right" comes out, and it's this HUGE hit so far in the US (I'm ecstatic, cuz it's my fav. song on the CD), and already she's planning to release another song in February. I think she needs to ride out the success of SIR, because I mean, come on! It's already a Top 5 hit on the charts, and she's gonna put something else out?

I don't know. It seems like there's not enough time for people to really get into these songs, then before you know it, she's gonna be out of singles and stuff to get her voice out there and keep her in the media, on the radio, etc.

Look at the Pussycat Dolls. Their album came out in 2005 and they still have a single on the charts. They prolonged the success of that CD.

Just my two cents. She's practically released the entire CD internationally, lol, with all the overseas singles too. I know she needs the hype, but daamn.

Maneater had already peaked when Say it Right was released.. that's why they rushed it. The song was already falling way down on airplay.

Funny how people complain when their fav artists have many singles released off an album and then,when those artists are on a break,they miss them very much
C'mon,let Geffen release EVEN 13 singles,as long as Nelly can SELL and EXPAND her AUDIENCE,it's good

Trust me, the last thing any Nelly fan would want is for them to release 13 singles. CDs tend to cap out at 5 or 6 singles (if the artist is lucky). Don't want Nelly to get overexposed and have a tremendous backlash against her... like most popstars suffer.. Look at Beyonce, even Gwen...etc. I say they go with her strongest singles, continue to release them in support of the album, tour, let her do her side acting gigs, then get back in the studio and work on more material...

u dont know what ur talkin about ..there is no plan for realse next single on feb for usa.. and maneater flopped on the radios (totally geffen's fault) . . .and again :3 singles in 8 months its not that bad

And.. guys.. Nelly is not getting over-exposed. For the normal people (read non-fans) she's has only three singles yet, which is pretty normal for an album with 7-8 months.

Let's not forget she's not releasing singles worldwide..

Well it depends on where you live. Here in the states she's everywhere -- tv shows, commercials, etc. Being a fan, it's great to see. But for people who aren't fans -- there's an oversaturation point. I really think it's a matter of where you live in the world. Nelly is an international artist, which is a GREAT thing, but here in the U.S. everything is so commercialized that over-exposure is almost inevitable.

Well.. than in this case its because she's getting over promotion. Not because she's releasing too many singles. US is still on the third single and there's not even a release date for a fourth one.
