I opened this thread to all of us who can't stand this backsinger ruinning Nelly's performances anymore. I don't know what is the problem with this woman, but looks like every performance she's singing louder and louder to the point we can't even hear Nelly's voice anymore. Anyone who watched Concert for Diana last night saw what Jasmine did. I guess she was frustrated that her debut cd failed and she can't accept the fact that she's again just a backsinger.

Here's some examples of her unprofessionalism:


We can barely hear Nelly's voice on the chorus during Say it Right.



At the Juno Awards. It already starts on All Good Things and only gets worse on Maneater.


She's actually doing this since Folklore.

And there's many more performance like this. Its just sad to see such great performances by Nelly being ruined by Jasmine.

Here here, you got my vote. Last night it wasn't even professional anymore, that was just over the top, and a very important performance. She did lower the quality of it, and people are wondering, especially in the chorus, why the hell they can't hear Nelly's voice. It kind of seems that she wants to think she's more than a backup singer, but to blur the vocals of one of the best selling artists of last years, that's too uch. I'm surprised Nelly's record company hasn't fired her already, because I doubt people pay to hear Jasmine sing. It's a pity she can't sing quiet enough, because if she did her job like she's supposed to, she'd be a really good backup singer. When she isn't making Nelly's vocals impossible to hear, she can kind of lift the energy level of a performance... which is why I think Nelly hasn't fired her yet. But last night was just inappropriate, they had invited Nelly to sing as fans even, and parts of the time couldn't even hear Nelly's voice... I'm definitely ranting, but I was really pissed of for this, because it took away from the music and performance.
And, have you noticed how sometimes cameramen actually picture Jasmine as if Nelly is having a duet with her? At least here they only recorded Nelly, which was good. But seriously, Jasmine has an ego problem, and it's rude towards Nelly, and after all shouldn't she be thankful, cause she's kinda known for Nelly...

Edit: Oh, God, I never realised that Forca performance was so bad. But I wonder if there's anything to do to that, when Nelly seems to put up with it...

Yes, at the Diana Concert I couldn't hear Nelly's voice. I think that her background vocals are exagerated! they are background vocals, it ain't a duet.

I think that jasmien is jaulous on Nelly ! I think that Jasmine, wants to be a big star like nelly, and i think that why she is singing louder then Nelly is because she is angry, because she is only a backup singer, and she wants to show what she got (but i dont think she got anything).
I really hope that Nelly will fired her soon, because everytime Jasmine is singen really loud (like she do almost all the time), i cant hear Nelly :/

^^ Yeah, I too hope she would fire her. And it does seem that she is jealous. What ever happened to that nice backup singer woman who could whistle All Good Things parts? At least she knew her job, sigh...

The background singers at the AMA performance were pretty good. They made sound SIR, partly, like gospel.

Aaaw, lol. I actually kinda like Jasmine and don't really mind. I still can hear Nelly pretty clear during the choruses. Okay, Jasmine is kinda loud and i guess louder than backgroundsingers are supposed to. But i actually never pay that much attention to background singers.
I'd rather see the backgrounddancers go than Jasmine. I want Nelly to return to her performances just with her band, without the dancing.
