Well, they were looking to give the rest of the world a warning not to mess with them. The message was clear.

However, it's not because they can detonate a nuclear bomb underground, that they can start threatening other countries. As far as we know, they still don't have the means (e.g. missile) to effectively transport that bomb to another country.

Still, it may lead to a dangerous proliferation if they start selling their technology and know-how to other countries. Yet, I don't think it's entirely their fault. The West created A-bombs, and it's not very difficult to foresee that other countries also want this weapon.

All in all, it's a dangerous development. With China protecting North Korea, it's quite hard to see where it all will lead to.

Yeah....but I mean...why do they always have to make that power demonstration : " EEY WE'RE THE BIG GUYS HERE, so don't mess with us". I mean, almost every country in the world has done that, i don't speak from N.K specifically.
But:
Do People never learn from History? Cuz if they would, things like this wouldn't happen and we might live in a better world.

North Korea want to show us how dangerus they are, and YES, THEY ARE REALLY DANGERUS!!!
We (USA, China, France, Germany, Great Britain, Japan, Italia and South Korea) must show that we don't want these bombs in North Korea. If they only reson for the detonating of this bomb was, to show everyone that they have the bomb, they shouldn't have any.
We must do what is necessary. If they show us the bomb, they will attack other countrys too.
We have to try it on a not military way first, but if this is not possible, we have to take the military way. I am sorry.

I think it's pretty scary. But so is the fact that the US, The UK, not at least Israel and other countries have it too. And even though they detonated it inside a mountain it is still very bad because it'll be nuclear waste for thousand of years there now, and who knows what that can do or where it'll end up.
