I remember that, around the time she released "Whoa, Nelly!," her website listed some of her musical influences. Off the top of my head, that list included Tricky (with whom she collaborated on the Paul Oakenfold track...another dream of hers realized, perhaps). Also listed was Amalia Rodrigues, a Portuguese singer of old who died in 1999. She was known as the Queen of Fado, and she had quite a beautiful voice. I can't remember any others at the moment.

hey she has a playlist for ipods so anyone who has i tunes can see it. just search throught the famous peoples playlist and shes there.

her favourite portuguese musicians are: Da Weasel, Xutos e Pontap?s, Delfins, Pedro Abrunhosa, MadreDeus, Nuno Guerreiro, Ala Dos Namorados, Santos e Pecadores e Lucia Moniz.
she has said to portuguesse press that she wish to do a collboration with Da Weasel |
