Nelly's fans disappoint me

nelly had heaps of fans in 2001 when Whoa Nelly was out and ILAB was huge, so was TOTL to a certain extent, but like has already been said there has been almost no promo done at all for Folklore so a lot of the people that enjoyed Whoa Nelly and the music associated with it back then don't really know that she is back.

So I'm talking about the Australian ones. And a lot of them don't bother requesting or buying her singles. I'm talking about the fans who declare their undying love for Nelly, and say how grateful they are for hermusic and what she's done for them.

And the money issue is what the industry revolves around, which is why unless she is supported by fans here (through requests and buying singles - which translates to more sales), she won't tour, because fiscally, it is not worth it...

I'm not saying money is why Nelly does what she does

well, u know what? now that I think about it... Nelly is not promoted much here in the US either, or at least my area. she's not even on the top 40 for album or singles here right now, and I've never seen/heard a radio ad for her. maybe in new york or cali she's promoted a little bit more, but certainly not here.

I guess to an extent you have an advantage cause you are still part of the US so you still get some of the promo that is done in the US, where as we get basically nothing, I'm doing all I can to promote her, but I'm just one person a promo campaign can do so much more!

When you start using "You" we can only assume that you are referring to Nelly fans. I'm defending the others who aren't spending every waking moment thinking/listening/watching Nelly. You're obviously upset that Nelly hasn't made frequent trips down under. Think how I feel. Today at the Junos was Nelly's second time in my city, the first time was long ago before her BITS tour and I unfortunately missed out on that show. Now because of the Junos she feels obligated to return to Edmonton.

I don't doubt that if the Junos happened somewhere else that she would skip Edmonton again on her upcoming tour. Why you ask? Well because she can't sell 10,000 tickets for a show here, which means they really aren't going to make much money by having the whole tour make the trip up here.

There are alot of other artists out there that give a whole lot more back to their fans, and after hearing Nelly speak at the Rush the Vote summit on Friday, I can't help but lose some respect for her. What kind of hypocrite comes out to a summit telling kids to vote, when she has never done so herself?
