Nelly's fans disappoint me

I'll love it if Nelly does tour in Australia. Living in Hobart, we hardly ever get any main stream artists playing down here - so it's off to Melbourne or Sydney (an exercise that costs a few hundred dollars). So for me not having concerts to attend is normal.
The only live concert I have been to in the last 12 YEARS is to see Nelly at Rumba in 2001 (and boy it was hard having to put up with some of the other acts before she made it to the stage ). And I have only EVER bought a single - and that was Try a couple of weeks ago!!
So come on guys - even without tours please support her. I check the Nelly sites a couple of times a day (and have done so since ILAB and Whoa Nelly first appeared) and do what I can. Lets support her and I am sure she will supply us with great music, great beauty and even greater personality for years to come. (2010 - Britney who???)

Oh Talitha why must you cause such a racket?! Lol well as always can we lay off the personal attacks. At the same time people are entitled to their opinions and they shouldn't be called stupid or something alike.

I agree and disagree with you on different points Tal. See, like you said it's the artist's choice to not be very involved with the fans or to just do their thing and not be bothered catering for everyone's needs which is fair enough, but I think the fans are entitled to the same choices. I realise the reason you made this thread is because you hate it when people whinge about Nelly but don't even buy her cds, but I don't think there's really a lot of that on here and you did say not all fans but it's still a generalisation and you have to expect people to take it personally.

Now in support of Tal, many of you have no idea how painful it is being a huge fan of Nelly in a country where nobody cares about her. I know there are quite a few of you here who are in even worse situations but it's annoying for us cause ILAB was no.1 in Australia and she was big but now nobody even knows she has another album out. However, I don't think I really blame it on the fans. Most fans of an artist are just casual listeners of music and don't want to bother looking up the charts every week and making sure they hear every new song. Just like me I don't hear new songs for weeks sometimes cause I don't really care unless I hear good things about it. Like Lynda said, it was absolutely ridiculous to see the first thing about Nelly just on the weekend on video hits for the competition. There has been no publicity whatsoever.

Why Tal and us other Australians are so upset is because rumour had it that Try's debut in the charts would be the deciding factor on whether she would tour Australia, so today I'm sure we all checked with spirits high...but it didn't even chart. Neither has the album. I don't think there was enough advertising personally and I think this is to blame. Her management failed in Australia cause they hardly TRYed in my opinion. I'd bet only the tiiiiiniest fraction of the population here know she has a new cd out.

Anyway, above all...can we just keep this civil?!? It doesn't take much to uphold a civil discussion/debate for us all to enjoy, contribute to and learn from, but it also doesn't take much for it to get out of hand and for the topic to just get closed.

PS. Where do I find these $2 singles?! Lol I would've bought heaps more if they were that cheap here!

There are lots of shops in Melbourne that have all singles for $2. We love those shops

My point was also not that nelly delivers a lot physically, but it's what she does for people personally - it doesn't have to be a public, or even visible thing.
And this was aimed at certain members of these boards, actually, so I did post it in the right place

I have 5 different cd's so far, and don't u worry, I'm gonna buy every disc possible that amazon.com sells!! so far I think it's about 3-400 dollars worth lol. I need $ first, then I will buy looots more!

Lol you might say I haven't been getting into these sorta threads as much as when Talitha used to create havoc! Haha I love to express my opinion in very extensive detail! Tal was like my worst enemy when I first came here and read her strong opinions that were really annoying haha but I'm glad she expresses her opinion and makes other more conservative people step up and fight. Nothing like some healthy arguing and criticising!

I don't think artists are looking for appreciation in how many singles you buy, it's who requests the songs, who can really relate to the songs, and who really takes something away from what they have to offer. Getting awards and recognition for people like Nelly is just icing on the cake, she would be happy either way. All of us bought the cd, most of us are gonna go to the shows. We give alot back to her, and she tries as much as she can to give to us. SO I dunno, you're topic seemed to come out of left field. We, the fans, are just anxious for her to tour, is that a bad thing??? Supporting is not just in the money, it is the smile on my face that I got when I saw her perform tonight, because I absolutely love what she does. Thanks for trying to stir the pot a bit, but yeah, we all support her as much as we can. Thanks.

Nelly has critical acclaim here- I'd warrant more than any other country. But that doesn't matter if her fans don't support her.
Buy a single, request her song.
It's not hard.

And if you don't. DON'T WHINE ABOUT HER NOT TOURING.
