Re: Nelly raise Nevis bilingual? trilingual??

thats a good question, im not sure, she speaks english, portugese and spanish right? but she was saying in an interview that shes been learning hindi, i think she said hindi anyway, so maybe she'll teach nevis all four, or just let nevis decide what she wants to learn

its not good teaching NEvis, well talking to Nevis in more than one language at once when she is young (1-5 years) cuz then shell get her languages all messed up. trust me. they should only talk to her one language then whe she starts school teacher all the languages in the world if she likes.

Re: Nelly raise Nevis bilingual? trilingual??

This Dutch politician vdLaan raises her child bilingual (Dutch and English) because she thinks this will decrease the chance for the child to develop Alzheimer?s disease later.
Sounds like magazine-science (especially because she?s a politician) but it just might be true.

Re: Nelly raise Nevis bilingual? trilingual??

I think Missing Origin is right. I know that when my little brother was little he started talking late because he was confused about what language to speak. My grandparents were staying with us and they would speak Igbo and then I would speak english and my parents would do both, and he didn't know which one to speak.

I know kids that can easily undertstand/speak and switch between two languages in their formative years. I'll definitely raise my child speaking two languages (English & Portuguese) from the very start of their life.

Re: Nelly raise Nevis bilingual? trilingual??

I was raised bilingual since I was born. But I think this was different as in my case English and Arabic written form are completely different....so it was pretty hard to get mixed up..

Im learning Turkish
