With five nods each, pop star Nelly Furtado, rockers Billy Talent and hip-hop artist k-os lead the nominees for the 2007 Juno Awards.



up for Single of the Year (?Promiscuous?), Album of the Year and Pop Album of the Year (Loose), Artist of the Year and Fan Choice.
Furtado, who calls Toronto home, already has five Juno Awards.
Billy Talent, whose members come from the Toronto area, is nominated for Single of the Year (?Devil in a Midnight Mass?), Album of the Year and Rock Album of the Year (Billy Talent II), Group of the Year and Video of the Year.
Toronto-based k-os, who has earned three Junos to date, is in the running this year for Single of the Year (?Sunday Morning?), Songwriter of the Year, Pop Album of the Year (Atlantis: Hymns For Disco), Video of the Year and Producer of the Year.
Triple-nominees include Hedley (Album, Group, Music DVD), Sarah Harmer (Songwriter, Adult Alternative Album, Music DVD), and Qu?bec artists Malajube (Alternative Album, Francophone Album, CD/DVD Artwork Design) and Gregory Charles (Album, Artist and Fan Choice).
Alexisonfire, Three Days Grace, Diana Krall, Sam Roberts, Chantal Kreviazuk, Mobile, Jim Cuddy, Sarah McLachlan, Ron Sexsmith and The Tragically Hip are among the acts who scored two nods each.
Newcomers Tomi Swick, Eva Avila, Neverending White Lights and Patrick Watson also earned two nominations each. New Group of the Year competitors are Mobile, Stabilo, Jets Overhead, Idle Sons and Evans Blue.

The race for International Album of the Year consists of Madonna (Confessions On a Dance Floor), Dixie Chicks (Taking the Long Way), Il Divo (Ancora), Justin Timberlake (FutureSex/LoveSounds) and Red Hot Chili Peppers (Stadium Arcadium).
In previous years, at least one artist or band in this category has performed live at the Juno Awards.

Vancouver-born super producer Bob Rock will be inducted this year into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.

Rock, 52, is co-founder of Canadian band Payolas, whose ?Eyes of a Stranger? was a hit in the ?80s. He later teamed with Payolas lead singer Paul Hyde for a project called Rock & Hyde. But Rock is best known for his work as a producer, creating hit music for bands like Metallica, Motley Crue, Bon Jovi and artists including Cher and Bryan Adams.

He recently produced upcoming albums for The Offspring, Motley Crue and Simple Plan and is nominated for a Juno this year for his work on The Tragically Hip?s World Container.
The Juno show, scheduled for April 1 at Saskatoon?s Credit Union Centre, will feature performances by Billy Talent, Three Days Grace, k-os and Quebec singer Gregory Charles. Other acts will be announced in the weeks to come.
Individual tickets, priced from $80 to $150, go on sale Feb. 10 through Ticketmaster.

not necessarily. She was nominated for 5 awards back in 2004, and i think she only won one. So let's hope her hosting the show is good luck to win more awards. Go nelly.
