Nelly Furtado in a new role

The canadian superstar Nelly Furtado is making plans for a career in the film industry.

After guest starring in an episode of CSI: NY Nelly Furtado's going to shoot a movie. The title and the director are still a secret and the partner of the singer will be an American actor nominated for an Oscar.

"It's great to be in front of the camera", said Furtado, who's still in the charts with her album Loose. She used to refuse to participate in TV series, but now: "I know that the TV is the most powerful media and I agreed to participate".

The episode with Nelly is called "Some Buried Bones". The singer is playing a thief - Eva Brand.

"I've never thought that the movie industry is so incredible. It's not the same as shooting a video".

The singer announced that the movie will be released before her new album. Nelly has recored some demos of new songs for the new album.

this is a cool article... thanks simona for sharing it with us cuz i always like to see magazine articles about nelly even if they are written in a totally different alphabet

about the CSI, she was really great, it was a great debut for as an actress and she seemed to be a professional one... well in 2005 she made some castings for the fim "nobody's here" and she would play the role of a young muslim girl who settled in the US, but nelly gave up cuz of loose (i think she would be awesome if she had encarnated this character)...

but if nelly wishes to explore the world of the film industry, so why not???... well i also liked to know that nelly has recorded some demos for new album... it's great...

I might get sporked for this but. I thought her acting in CSI was awkward and the parts where she said nothing at all were better than the parts in which she spoke. I'm not sure how I feel about her doing a movie. I mean, I'll watch it and stuff to support Nelly 'cause I'm a fan and it's a fan's job to support their fave musicians and such, but. Overall I'm not really excited for this.

New music, though! Now that is something I'm excited for. I wonder what musical direction she'll go in this time.
