My concert review (->Hamburg Concert, March 11)

Here it is... sorry if there are any mistakes

On March 11, I went to Nelly's concert in my hometown Hamburg in Germany with my best friend We had to wait half an eternity until Nelly finally showed up on stage. But when she started performing, we forgot about our anger immediately. The show started with an intro that featured the helicopter-scene from the video of "Say It Right" plus the song "Afraid". I actually think that it was a cool idea to start with a video of Nelly arriving in a helicopter. Anyway, the first song she sang was "Say It Right". I really like the song- it's great. But the band and sound was so much louder than Nelly's voice so that one couldn't really hear her singing. Why couldn't they have turned down the sound level of the instruments a little bit? Well... but what I heard from Nelly's mouth was nice. She 'sang it right'.
After those few first songs Nelly sang a few ballads. The instruments were turned down then and one could hear her beautiful voice. That was good! The funniest thing about the concert probably was when Nelly went backstage to change her dress and the background singer performed "Sexy Back"- yes, that song originally sung by Justin Timberlake. It was so much fun and a creative way to spend dress changing breaks. I've been to several other concerts and they just had dance shows by the dancers in the breaks. I like dance but those were a little boring.
Ok, back to Nelly Furtado now. What has also clearly stayed in my mind was the perfomance of "Forca". I guess you know that "Forca" was the official song for the european football championship in 2004. So Nelly appeared on stage wearing a german football shirt. That was a cute idea and in that moment I wished I had a football shirt with my name on the back, too. *LOL* Oh, and the dancers threw some footballs through the arena. Nelly also signed a football and gave it to a fan.
At the end of the concert she performed the party tracks, I talk about "Maneater", "Promiscuous", "Give It To Me" and so on... The sound was finally great then and the perfomances were just fun. As the sound of "Maneater" started, one could feel a special vibe in the crowd- well, it was an absolute hit in Germany.
It was a great night, very adorable! But I hate that international artists don't speak that much to the crowd over here. They probably think our English is too bad and we don't understand them. But I don't think so... Anyway, it's very very cool that not only songs from the albums were part of the show. There were special remix versions, unreleased tracks and even cover versions of other artist's songs in it. As I already said, I've been so several concerts already and they all just played they're own album tracks or only just one different song...
