the fries are ok. nothing like jack in the box fries, mmmmm.

actually, the mcdonalds in portugal i had was pretty good, it was much less greasy than anything here.

oh, today is the last day for mcdonalds 99 cent chicken nuggets!!!

When I eat at McD I usually order a McChicken and a vegetable burger [if available]. I don't fool myself and know that that is still not healthy food, McD isn't healthy period. Alot of people also forget that drinking a lemonade, which is usually also ordered with the meal, contains a huge amount of sugar. So with one meal at McD most people get way too much calories, fat and sugar. That's the only thing I never do, order a shake or lemonade.

I banished any kind of lemonade out of my life; I only drink water, healthy [green/ginseng] tea, 2 cups of coffee during work [this will change from this week on; I'll also stop drinking coffee], and alcohol now and then; that will not change, hehe.

Well the soft drink/soda/pop/etc is usually just a syrup mixed with water. The syrup has a lot of sugar yeah, but I think I'd rather drink the syrup than coke haha. Probably better for you.

I do like the fries but they're nothing special. I think they're tasty but I'd prefer bigger chips with more potato in them.

All I really have to compare to the local McDonald's is what I saw in Supersize Me, and it looks a lot better here than the US. Especially since the film showed actually. After it, McDonald's Australia did a lot of advertising about how they don't supersize and how much healthier the food is and they changed the nuggets to real chicken breast.

I worked in upgrading the computer systems at McDonalds around Queensland and New South Wales and got to see a lot of what was going on and they're so strict and there's nothing wrong with any of the food. That being said, I don't eat it very often at all, but I still like it. Kids sure love it too. When my sister stays here I always end up eating lots of Macca's cos we're out a bit and it's the easiest place to take kids cos they have high chairs, playgrounds, good selection of food for kids and they're always quick.

I'm guessing non Halal means cows? I eat anything so I'm not exactly very well educated on religious customs, etc. with relation to food.

YEh the non Halal or Haram means Muslim cannot eat it (Although many dont care) and its the way of the slaughter of cows and chickens. All blood must be drained out and the chicken or cow cannot be killed by taking a heavy blow or being electrocuted. IT must be pierced by either a knife or it can aslo be shot.

Because we live in Australia, all Mc Donalds franchises use non Halal meat and products. My local Mc DOnalds has now changed its menu and uses all Halal products and after waiting years I finally ate Mc Donalds!!! It might sound a bit dumb to you but its something big for me. Mate, best hamburgers come from the fish & chip shop, always have..... McD's is only if you're way hungry & there's nothing else around................... like when you visiting in a hospital, (somehow a McChucks always seems to be nearby)

Don't ya love how it costs ya 2 or 3 bucks for a thing of chips from maccas and you get those crappy little ones, when you can just hit the fish n chips shop and get 2 bucks worth of the chips, which are about four times the amount, much tastier and with chicken salt?

I have to agree, those fries are the best They are the only ones that make me feel like I'm eating fries as a good food and not a useless filler

Peewee, As far as Mc Donald's quality goes in the US, its not anything like the "Super size Me" movie. That guy in the movie was a vegetarian so of course eating beef would make him sick lol as would eating the same food for weeks no matter where you get the food.

If you want to see low quality food just go down to Memphis Tennessee and you will cherish the Mc'D's in your hometown. I went to Memphis for Elvis week last month and I lost 10lbs just going down there, none of the fast food resturants wear gloves while making food and you see them sweeping,wiping their noses,wipeing their hands on their pants and not washing their hands after they come out of the bathroom then they have the balls to tell you its FDA certified and then once you call them on their lie then they tell you what do you expect its Memphis? It wasn't just a Mc Donald's thing it was Burger King, Taco Bell, Taco Johns,Hardees,Wendy's, A&W,IHop all of them! I guess its the way those people were raised down there!.

Me and my family will not eat at a place that doesn't wear gloves while making food, Any Fast Food restaurant North of St Louis is much cleaner and more strict on cleanliness and they almost always wear gloves while making food. Out of the 25+ fast food restaurants we stopped at to inspect before we ate there only 1 Taco Bell crew wore gloves in Memphis and we went back the next day and they didn't have gloves. Finally we got sick of looking for places that wear gloves so we just went to Wal Mart got food from the Super centre and grilled cheese burgers in the Hotel (the Wal Mart had horrid dirty floors). Down South in the USA they just don't give a fuck about being clean very few places are clean, up here in Wisconsin every fast food restaurant wears gloves and even our Floors in Wal Mart sparkle like the Mr Clean commercial (they are so clean you can see your reflection in them ). Most of the Restaurants in the mid to Northern USA are very clean its just the South that you can stereo type and be correct about it lol.

Its not about being picky or a neat freak its about not getting someones splooge from their wanker in your food!

Hmm I don't really think Supersize Me was all true and that all McDonald's is horrible or anything. I agree that he made himself sick from eating it constantly when his body was certainly not used to it. There just seems to be a good standard here at McDonald's as opposed to the other major chains. Each store is different for them, but McDonald's Australia is the same everywhere you go.

I guess I'm just comparing how the food looked to how it is here. There seems to be more bigger greasier burgers on offer there lol. Maybe our's are just lame or tame in comparison I dunno.

I wonder how long this thread will go on for? Everyone's got something to say about McDonald's or a funny story with something to do with one lol. I'll see if I can track down a photo of me with Ronald.
