she's only at no 24 and she's loosing audiance.... why?!?!?!?!!?

Thats BullShit I see the Maneater video every morning before work on VH-1's "JumpStart" and I heard it on the drive to work as well about 3 times in the last week.

The record company just was holding off Maneater for too long.. if it was released while Promiscuous was still peaking, Maneater would be a bigger hit than it was.

Say It Right will be the killer that song blows any out of the way on the radio now even Promiscuous and I like Promiscuous, but Say It Right is awesome!

I think it's because Promiscuous was more loose, I mean it's very flirty, catchy and about sex (in a very playful way) so I think that it appeals to teenagers more because I think teens in general like those types of songs for example London Bridge. It's a party song. Maneater is catchy too, but I don't think the topic is as appealing to younger audiences and it has a different feel to it than Promiscuous. I'm even worried about Say it Right because it's a mature and more serious song, and it seems like dance songs are the ones doing well right now.

Some of you are SERIOUSLY overreacting about "Maneater" and U.S. airplay. Folks, the song is #16, has only been on the charts for 5 weeks and is steady rising. Sure, it's very likely "Maneater" will not mirror "Promiscuous" success but very, very few songs this year will on American radio. "Promiscuous" is one of those songs that's so immediately U.S. radio-friendly that its success was pretty much cemented the minute people started hearing it in Verizon Wireless commercials.

"Maneater" is the opposite: an intriguing little slice of dance-pop that will warrant a few listens before it appeals to the same audience that's making stuff like "Chain Hang Low" and "Laffy Taffy" massive top ten hits. It is FAR from a failure or flop. Calm down, people.
