Nelly even sings ""Burning Up" like Madonna... That song sounds nothing like Janet Jackson, if anything besides madonna it'd be Cyndia Lauper, but when people think of 80's female singers they think of Madonna because she's the only one still around, which is why the comparisons exist. Gwen may have been looking to Debbie Deb , Debbie Harry & Cyndi Lauper for inspiration, Jennifer Lopez to lisa Lisa. Its just people think Madonna, more so because the rest of them are nowhere...
