Re: Lifeless Furtado plays to lots of empty seats
I was at the show... SHE TOUCHED MY HAND! But that's beside the point.
I was really, really disappointed in the turnout for the show, the arena was half empty... and well, to be honest, Try was the most heartfelt song of the whole performance. Her heart really didn't seem to be in it. It seems to me that she was much more into her own music with her first two cds. I fell in love with Nelly when I saw her perform Like A Bird on Saturday Night Live. Her passion is what drew me, and it's missing in Loose. It was so obvious watching her perform live. Here's a pic from the show: ![]() |

Re: Lifeless Furtado plays to lots of empty seats
Ouch ya know im guessing that Its hard for her to sell out the greek in La because let me tell you all the radio stations are giving heaps of tickets away. Crazy that Venue is small she should of sold it out already... I hope its not an empty show considering i have nose bleed seats while these What i like to call Hype fans...You know people who become fans of someone just because there the it thing have pit and upfront seats. I know i should be happy but ive always been front row i cant get over this!

Re: Lifeless Furtado plays to lots of empty seats
well, whatever!!!
i know Nelly is a real talent, not just "Maybe", she is the most talented singer ive seen ever i know the US ppl just go to common singers's artists so im not surprised why there are many empty seats in there let's see! her tours in Europe are totally more successful than US's ones (till now we can see), because Nelly's music anyways fit the EU ppl's ears than the US. We can see, Nelly released ''loose" as a common album with hiphop and r&b but, there are just a few songs like that, she doesnt sing all those common songs in all of her concerts, besides, she sings great tracks from "folklore" and "whoa, Nelly!". I know there were so many ppl in here going to her concerts in EU and were really disappointed with her performances of those common songs, the ppl expect the old Nelly more. and about those ppl who just go to her concerts because she is popular, they just know some common songs and we can't be sure if they will buy her next albums or go to her next tours/concerts. anyways, we can't deny the success of "loose" which brings her the very big fame, big income, but i dont think this is stable, the evidences are Maneater and AGT flipping out of the charts after being at the tops and etc... but Nelly is really intelligent to decide that she would release a spanish album, that will refresh her. let's pray for her! *fingers crossed* lol ;p |

Re: Lifeless Furtado plays to lots of empty seats
i'm sure/i hope whatever she does next can be a combination of the passion and real musicianship of her first two albums mixed with the flash/funk of "loose." in my opinion nelly just keeps growing and OF COURSE we haven't seen the last of her.

Re: Lifeless Furtado plays to lots of empty seats
For this reviewer to refer to Nelly's performance as "timid' and 'reserved' is very ignorant. I've been to over 100 concerts and I've never seen a performer who puts more heart and passion into her live shows than Nelly! And nothing against Gwen Stefani, but I saw both Gwen and Nelly in concert in the past month and Nelly blows Gwen away in every aspect of the live performance. Singing, dancing and stage presence in general. And as for selling only 3000 tickets; Nelly was very brave to play a town like St.Paul where no performers sell out unless you're a major country act. It would have been easy for Nelly to cancel the St.Paul show due to poor ticket sales(i.e. Kelly Clarkson) but she stuck to her committment and performed the concert. And for that I admire Nelly!

Re: Lifeless Furtado plays to lots of empty seats
I like how 2 people can go to the same concert and see 2 different things!
For one, out of the half arena there was 50-100 seats not full woopy out of the 9,000 capacity! also the rest of the empty seats were because at least 300 people got out of their seats and went up to the front of the stage as I did to try to touch Nelly and they stayed there and so there seats were EMPTY DUH. People just like to start untrue story's or stretched story's to embellish and further their career as a journalist. I have pictures I will develop to prove these untrue and embellished mockery's to be false. And for the performance being lifeless? eat shit I say, You can't possibly get more into the songs than Nelly did its impossible. From the cover of Crazy to Heart of Glass and Try this girl had a vocal performance that matches if not tops Mariah and Celine at ANY time in their careers. The feeling was way more than them for sure. I was sceptical that the music wouldn't suffer with the bigger stage and the huge disco ball and glam but there wasn't much glam at all even the dancers didn't bother me it was a great show and everybody who was there enjoyed it alot I didn't see one person still sitting in their seats. My personal favourite time of the show was when Nelly strapped on her white Les Paul Studio and jammed the intro to Maneater. All Good Things was awesome she pretended that it was the last song and then said "Just kidding we've got more!" She talked with the crowd and made all of us feel like family and she even pointed in my face and said I love you!!!! ![]() I think anybody who was there and was "aware" of their surroundings would tell you the concert was rockin' and it was at least 95% full. The only thing that did suck about the concert was the PRE SALE TICKETS from TICKETMASTER and the lack of staff knowledge about how to redeem them for the back stage pass. I hope somebody bootlegged this concert so they can see how dead wrong this dead beat reviewer was. |
