I wrote for the first time in ages last night.

TAKE ONE DAILY.
She sighs softly and gazes out onto a world stood deathly still,
With beating heart and lonely passion, atop the window sill.
She wonders when the world grew colder and she ceased to feel the chill,
With deft fingers and acidic mind going to waste, atop this grassy hill.

She places a stone upon the cairn and watches the years fly by,
"I used to be a little girl" she said, "who never learnt to cry."
Now I watch headlights chasing shadows with a world-weary eye,
Swirling kaleidoscopes of randomicity transcend into subtle skies.

If I promise myself that I'm fine and that I'll pull myself through,
This tightening noose of despair, it might just, someday, come true.
Bitter recriminations flit through my mind and I'll always miss you,
Everytime I taste my stinging tears that match the cool morning dew.

My heart grows heavy and my mind, inexplicably weak,
I can't remember when I never felt this cold fatigue.
I view my life as sepia and watch the colours bleed,
I'll burn this midnight oil, chasing the ever-elusive sleep.

MY VESSEL.
Like a time travelling stranger from a far away land,
You captured my imagination and made me understand;
Memories are so redundant,
Dreams are merely ironic.
If time travel were possible,
I'd want you as my vessel.

We'll zip through time and space, braving the final frontier,
Like a scene from a movie, "my darling love hath no fear!"
You take me to my limits and deplete my reserves,
If you hurt me now, it's no less than I deserve.
I can't find the words to express or explain,
You're the anaesthetic to my sorrow and pain.

I'm wanting some clever words to slip through my lips,
To find their way to you, through darkness and mist.
To offer you comfort when you're feeling alone,
Offer you company when I don't pick up the phone.
I'm next to you, my angel, even if time can be so very cruel,
I'll cup you in hands that will save you, my most precious jewel.
