I remember the days. . .. ...

I remember the days when the "gas" price was 99 cents per gallon.
In 5 years, the Gas price has nearly trippled. well, here in the States.
Where I live, the cheapest price per gallon is $2.91. (the mininum wage is $5.15 so the living cost is less, I know the price per gallon is much more in other states, i live in the state of NEW MEXICO).

How much are you guys paying for gallon? please say which state you live in and how much the minimum wage is.

If you dont live in the states, then say price per liter i guess.

Will the price ever go down?

I am worried cuz the college i am attending next semester is kinda far from where I live, so I am gonna pay for a lot of gas.

Re: I remember the days. . .. ...

I actually favor high gas prices. Maybe this will force more people to conserve, and pressure companies into researching more efficient alternatives. If it's cheap, people will never change their ways and keep consuming.

No, I actually think, they won't go down.
Oil is simply a too rare resource. Those sheikhs will earn money like hell due to the fact there is hardly any oil left.

But what do I tell you about rare resources? Inflation is still a problem you can't avoid. I remember also the days(well not I myself, but my ancestors) when the prise of a pretzel was a fractional amount of today's prise. Almost everything becomes more expensive.

Re: I remember the days. . .. ...

Nuclear Energy is the key. But peope just as terribly informed as the Bush conservatives voting against the stem cell law, keep blocking it. They therefore cause unnecessary air pollution (double l or single??) because sun and wind energy is useless shit. When I cross the German border here I immediately come in this huuuge windmill park, and what does it deliver? Nothing. But very smart from them dumping them all at the Dutch border, we suck anyway

We have two diesel cars so I only know that price; we get it at the local Farmers Union complex, and since we?re a member, we get the tax back.
It?s slightly over ?1,00 per litre. Lowest I remember is 90 eurocents, but that?s because I never took notice of it before I had my drivers license, a year ago.

Re: I remember the days. . .. ...

its about 2.96 here in minnesota.

and carlo, i was just thinking that the other day actually, funny you mention that. Bush really needs to approve more spending on energy conservation/research. but no, he'd rather get money from oil... *sigh*
You know, he's actually ruining the economy by these high oil prices... think of how good an economy we would have if we nearly eliminated all importation!

if we wait too long there will be no oil left, no transportation, and a country that will go crazy.
