Yesterday we went to see hill climbing. It was quite an awesome event, except it lasted too long... for about 5 hours or so. We made our way up the ash hill and I felt like dying. I seriously contemplated on giving up smoking for good. It was so difficult to get up there since the higher you got the less trees and plants there were to hold on to. Once we were up there we pointed fingers at each other laughing, each one looking worse than the other. We were completely covered by ash, we looked like tourists from Ghana. After a while my friend and I climbed down and went home to take a shower and change clothes. We went back and decided to follow the finals from a distance. It was a good call. One of the things I wish I had seen was the beer race but I was at home while it took place. People had to run up the hill and who got there first won a a lot of beer. I wouldn't have cared if those were the last bottles on earth. The only thing that made me go higher and higher was the fear of falling down. Anyway, here are some pics I took...

The first pic of your second post showing how high the mountains are is awesome. It's like the mountain was moulded just for driving up on a motorbike haha it's the perfect shape.

finally someone at least figured out how to use these mountains. basically they're nothing but waste, ash that's left of oil shale.
