Weeell the last thing I shared with the bitsers were my so called warped life drawings. I thought I would share the culmination of these experiments and the results of many many hours of rubbing charcoal onto paper with my poor finger.
Oh I should have warned it contains nudity! But too late lol. I think we can all handle it.
I crapped on for 10 minutes about it when I presented it and I would probably have gone all day cos I rarely shut up, but i'll just explain the basic reasons of how it came to be.
Had various life drawing and photography sessions and was required to further the process over a number of weeks and produce a final piece or series of pieces. I had come up with several which I decided to squish together to make one big one.
The meaning behind the piece isn't an easy one to describe, mostly because it was about exercising and embracing the unconscious mind. I have always had an interest in dreams and the unconscious; letting yourself go and allowing your mind to work the way it wishes to without deviation.
Okay that didn't all make much sense, so here it is. The work is 75x55cm on some kind of thick textured paper using very soft charcoal.
Ok I see this forum software squishes the image so I made it smaller and linked it to a much larger version if you clicky it.
Some of the works were chosen to be hung up on display at uni. Here is my tired n sweaty mug with my piece.
