how did u become a nelly fan?

I am a kind of new nelly furtado fan. I fell in love w/ her when I watched her Grammy performance this year. I was just wondering how other people became nelly furtado fans, and for how long.

Well Nelly47, Twas uhh..... About February 2001, when I was brought into the world of Miss Furtado, by my girlfriend actually . She told me she liked "ILAB"(and this was before the song got big in the US) So I checked it out and was hooked. I was blasting TOTL at school in early April 2001 way before that got huge. Well, I was hit with her arrow and have loved her ever since Feb 2001.

Well, I think it was around June, 2001. I was watching TV, when I saw her song. It was ILAB. I fell in love with that song. It made me fell happy, calm, I can't describe that. A short time later, I bought her CD. Now, she's my favourite singer. Whenever I have a problem, I try to listen to ILAB. It realy seems to soothe me.

It was when I heard ILAB on the radio... one day while I was listening to it, I decided that I loved the song and I should check out the rest of her material. My little brother got me her cd for my brithday one year and I ended of loving her!

I remember it like it was yesterday....I'm watching tv around 2am MTV to be exact and the VJ is introducing newcomers, and he said there was a new Canadian singer by the name of Miss Nelly Furtado.... and he was playing her video premiere ILAB for the very first time on MTV...I fell in love w/the song instantly.. I've always been into music, but when I heard her song, I was like I bet you her whole cd is good... I bought it the next day.....I was hooked... what can I say, her music is all that and a bag of crisps! I cannot wait 4 her new album!!! I need it! Shit I can't wait til she starts touring again too! I can't actually pin point like a date for when I became a huge fan, I heard ILAB and I liked the song, but at that stage of my life I wans't really into listening to the lyrics of songs and listening to the msg so it didn't really fase me that much at first, then I heard her album at a friends place and I was hooked to the album, so I went and got her album and kept listening to it for ages, then TOTL came out and it just re-registered in my mind and heart that Nelly's music was more than just music, it was a message that anyone could understand if they wanted to listen. Then I heard that she was coming to Rumba and I got so excited and got more and more into her music as the year progressed and her performance at Rumba came closer and closer.

So in answer to the question, early last year, or there abouts......kinda just after ILAB came out, which seems like it was years and years ago cause I can't imagine what the last year would have been like without Nelly's music to keep me grounded. Now I love hearing the msgs in the lyrics of each song and they are ones that I can really relate to, which I think is the essence of a good song, that and getting lost in the emotion and power of the song. or as nelly has said before "losing your sense of space and time" between the beginning and the end of the song!
Ok I think I got kinda sidetracked in my answer!! lol oh well!

I was in Canada when she won her Junos and I was like "OMG! This girl rocks!"
Then when I saw her live I became a little more fanatic, lol, and it's just kinda kept going!

I was in hawaii and I saw her in the airlines magazines, then they showed a feature of nelly as a upcoming candian artist when I arrived in the country and back in australia when I turned on channel v nelly was again in my face with Ilab and I thought this girl is a special person, listening to nelly's music changed me totally, seing her in concert and meeting nelly made me a even bigger fan.

i was in the states when i first heard nelly. i'm like a bird was spinning on the radios. so i bought her album and yeah, there is more to it, but it is kinda lame and only three people in this world know the story, so i will keep it that way. but all that i will say is that nelly really made all the difference in my life.
