it's weird cause I actually don't listen to much pop (so all the people think it's weird I like her this much)... but a friend of my sister had the album and I checked it out (at first just to check the production & engineering) and wound up loving it.

one day I was laying in bed my sophomore year in high school when I shoulda been getting ready for school, and the tv in the living room was on and VH1 was on.... I listened to I'm LIKE A BIRD and was liking it. I was like "HEY I LIKE THIS SONG!!" so I get out of bed in my boxers, run my ass to the living room, and see nelly standing in front of a tree and crowd surfing... I thought she was so pretty. talk about morning wood haha so anyway, the title of the video had already showed and I was like "NOOOO!!! I MUST KNOW WHO THIS IS!!!" so I got all depressed and a week later I was tying my shoes in the morning in front of the tv when I'm LIKE A BIRD came on again and that night I went to www.nellyfurtado.com and the rest is history

It was end of 2000 or beginning 2001 (can't remember exactly) and I heard "I'm like a bird"..I was sold lol and sometime after that she went in the Starmaker house and performed TOTL acoustic, she was so cute I've loved her and her music ever since hehe

At first I really wasn't that interested in Nelly Furtado. Every time her video came on, I would just change the channel because I thought she was just another "Britney Spears" wannabe, but then I saw her perform on Much Music. She performed ILAB, TOTL, and ...on the radio, and in between songs she had some Q&A and a little interview. She was soooo hot, and she had so much energy, that I instantly became a fan after that. Her performances on that show were awesome, especially ILAB accoustic.

Oh Well... I first heard Nelly because my older sister told me that she heard someone called Nelly Furtado singing a song that started with violins (I love violins) and then I started to look for that song and information about her. Then I read her parents were portuguese and I was like wow, she almost portuguese and then I started to fell in love with I'm Like a Bird and downloaded most of the songs and fell completely in love with her... I was getting crazy and I asked my sister to get me her album and... I was completely overwhelmed with her voice, her lyrics, her songs, she made me feel really good. then the crazyness began!! I remember it started in nov/december 2000 and 3 years later I'm still crazy. "My love grows deeper everyday"!!

I heard "I'm like a bird" on the radio and at first it didnt do it for me. Then I saw her in a portuguese interview on tv, and I thought "well, she's portuguese, she must be good" so one day I was walking around downtown toronto and I went into HMV. I listened to the entire Whoa Nelly CD and loved it. then I made my family buy it for christmas and the rest is history!!!!!!!!!!

I'm a young nelly fan, I follow Nelly since I have heard Powerless, at the begging I was sad cause I always asked me: why don't I follow Nelly from the begging of her career?
