Cool "Hip Hop is Dead"

Does anyone here listen to artists like "Nas" in their spare time? If so, have you heard this album? It's so cool, especially to be considerably commercial/mainstream as far as media attention and controversy is concerned!

OMG
I Love Nas!
Wonderful music
But Hip hop is dead
That song is, Id hate to say it but so annoying
I kiiiinda like it

But my fav of his songs is "I know i can"
I think is has such power in it
Its so well put together
And it has a meaning
How cant you like it?

Re: "Hip Hop is Dead"

"The Self-Titled Track" ("Hip-Hop Is Dead") is quite frankly the worst song on that album. However, everything else surpasses it to a painful degree. It's that good of an album! "You Can't Kill Me" is quite interesting to listen to. It's one of my favorites. "Let There Be Light" could be it's best and most vocally eloquent (If that makes any sense, at all). "Still Dreaming" is another personal favorite of mine! You've really gotta buy this album!

Re: "Hip Hop is Dead"

gotta get this album

he definately is right, hip hop is dead . hip hop before in the past from 80s-mid90s was great until commercialism came along and ruined mainstream hip hop. hardly any rapper has any love for the music now, all they care is about money and fame, thats just ignorant. nas may have sold out like other rappers did but he still has his heart in hip hop, thats what i respect him the most

Re: "Hip Hop is Dead"

I heard it as soon as it leaked online. I'm a hip hop head myself but I don't see hip hop as dead. It really is in the mindframe of the listener. To many in the South, hip hop is anything but dead. To backpackers, it's been dead for years.

Re: "Hip Hop is Dead"

I think Nas is right, Hip Hop is Dead, actually I think mainstream music is dead There is a lot of unreleased music that is much better than the songs released. Some not really known artists trying to make a breakthrough are more talented than the artists making #1 on Billboard. But back on topic lol, I don't like Nas' music except for a few songs and Hip Hop is Dead is not one of the ones I like lol.

Hiphop is not dead. If you claim this now, it was always dead. Just that hiphop didn't change. I believe Stones Throw is still pushing out great albums. The scene is just changing and people are scared.
