Frankfurt show 6.23.04 - my review

So, hi, just got back from Frankfurt.

The show rocked. I must say I have seen Nelly a few times so far, but this today was definetely the best show ever. If not the best concert I've ever been to from any artist......

The French support act was weird though. She was this voice sample freak who was wearing a ballerina dress and black-white striped stockings. She was this weird mix of Howie Day and Bj?rk. The only time the people clapped for her a lot was when she sang a cover from Come As You Are and when she announced that it was her last song...Really strange support act!!! During SOTR Nelly thanked her though and said she was awesome yada yada

Nelly came out and rocked. (sorry to say this, but is she pregnant again? at the beginning she held her hand over her (not so tiny) tummy for a long time, and she was wearing a ring on the ring finger..but never mind, none of my business). The audience stood up very early in the show during Try and didnt sit down again. Everyone was dancing through out the show. Nelly seemed to be in a good mood, was jumping around all the time, did a few "choreographed" dance moves with the back up singer (who was awesome by the way, she was really into it, and soooo pretty). Nelly was laughing alot and moving a lot, she stood in front of us several times, to me it's still funny when she can look you in the eyes and you know it....know what I mean? During Party she asked a girl and guy up stage and they danced on the stage. Everyone including the audience was dancing as crazy. I loved that they played Fotografia, awesome song, no one seemed to know it. I didnt see anyone else but me sing along. Forca was the last song and it got wild, the whole audience was jumping up and down, no joke....I thought the building would crash....Then at the end of the show this little boy was allowed to go on stage...They played all the songs in the normal order as with the other concerts...Nelly was waving around a Canada flag and they had a few portugal scarves, she even told us the football halftime results (ggrrrrr :-( )....ummmm what more? ummmm Nelly gave everyone in the front her hand to the end of the show....you know, there was no barrier between the seats and the stage....ummmm. oh the show could have been a little longer, another song woudlnt have hurt (hint legend hint) it was not even 90 minutes long...maybe 87 or so..... but I'm not here to complain...

I had a splendid time, too sad Nelly doesn't allow audio taping...her live shows are just awesome, it's a really good live band. I had my equipment with me, but I was surrounded by 4 securtiy people (no kidding) and they told me to put the stuff away. sniff....

You know what, I had had the feeling she was sprogged up again, since she hasn't made many plans for the end of the year.

Truth takes time.

well yeah she has no further tour dates after the canadian tour so who knows maybe she is pregnant again but only time will tell us

Well, Daniel gave us a good review of the Frankfurt concert. But I'm trying to report you my little point of view...
First of all: NELLY YOU ROCK!!!!
This is definetly my favourite show ever! But first things first...
Seeing the support act, the name Bj?rk came into my mind, too. Weird and a little bit sleepy. I didn't focuse on here, because I was to excited to see Nelly.
I was a little bit unsatisfied about my seat. I had a seat in row six, sounds great, but it was on the balcony and soooooo far away.
When Nelly appeared on the Stage she gave full throttle from the first minute. That was cool. Unfortunately the (in my point of view) a little bit too old crowd was still sitting on their chairs.
I couldn't sit still, and after the second song my buddy and I stand up and walk all the way throw the concert hall (our seat-neighbours still wondering) to the top left balcony. Only 3 metres away from Nelly. We started all the fuzziness. After 5 Minutes some guys followed us and ten minutes later the hole balcony was full with people dancing.
Unfortunately some really aggressive and rude security guy threatened us to kick us out of the show if we won't stop taking pictures! pretty weird, seeing that everybody was taking pictures.
Whatever, the anger was fading away while we enjoyed Nelly's show. I was dancing my ass off! I was wearing a Portugal-Football-Shirt with "Forca" and 78 printed on the back. Sometimes she recognised it and gave me a glance. In those moments I was like a bird, I'll only fly away.
Because of the Security I couldn't shoot a lot of pictures. And most of them are crappy and too dark.
Well, I was so happy and stoked after the show and I can't wait to see Nelly performing live again. But when? But where?
