Red face Favourite film

I was wondering what films people were into.
I have to admit that I have a soft spot for or from (I'm not sure!) romantic comedy's - I really liked 'just like heaven' - isn't Mark Ruffalo really cute? And then there is '13 goin on 30'.
But then I have to say that some are just tooo cheesy - like The holiday - very beautiful people but just dull!

Don;t get me wrong I'm not fickle - I do like serious films - I just saw the Constant Gardner - was brill and one of my favoourites is Crash - but then I don;t like films that take themselves too seriously when the issues are just not that profound - although I can't think of any right now!

So what have you seen recently and what do you like?
Has anyone seen Oceans 13? Any good?

Re: Favourite film

Constant Gardener is a really good film.

My fave genre is horror; the more gore the better.

I'm also obsessed with Harry Potter films, and Jack Nicholson films; As Good As It Gets is fantastic.

I don't do chickflick films, asides from Bring It On & Legally Blonde, cos they're just fluffy

Don't we already have a Movie thread just above this one? But anyway, my favourite movie is Closer. Never get tired of watching it.

Re: Favourite film

Abre los Ojos, Amelie, Donnie Darko, American History X, The Butterfly Effect, Cidade de Deus, Volver, Itty Bitty Titty Committee, Saving Face, Gia, Sin City, Fight Club, The Hours, Bang Bang You're Dead... just to name a few.

I tend to prefer drama and comedies. I love European films (by Lars von Trier for example). I rarely watch action films cos I tend to find them boring. Oh and sometimes I absolutely love animations... for example today I watched Flushed Away and at times laughed so hard I had tears in my eyes.. those slugs were so funny and cute

Re: Favourite film

My favourite film is The Dreamers by Bernardo Bertolucci. Maybe it isn't the best film, but for some reason I just really love it and I can relate to the characters a lot. I guess it's especially the character's love for the movies that to me makes the film very interesting.
