I think the long periods she's out of the business are to blame. Releasing an album every 3 years and then disappearing isn't much helpful for Nelly's recognition. Especially during the "Folklore" era, when I wasn't a fan, and watched the final of Euro 2004, I was so hooked on with "Forca" and when they said that the singer was Nelly Furtado I was like "Where did I hear this name before"? Later in 2006, when I became her fan I started watching her older videos and when I found out that she was the "field" & "mud" girl I was shocked! Then I remembered how obsessed I was with "I'm Like A Bird" and how much I liked the eye colour changes in both "I'm Like A Bird" and "Turn Off The Light" videos. But I'm 100% sure that when the new album pops up, everyone will know who Nelly is!

I have to agree with all of this! almost all of the things you said here were my reactions too minus the eurovision thing cause i dont even know what it is lol

Euro is not the same with Eurovision

Euro is a football event in Europe taken every 4 years, just like Mundial. It's like the European Mundial.

Eurovision is an annual European song contest where every country in Europe sends a song and after tele-voting the winner is known.

Nelly performed at the final of Euro 2004 in Portugal, because "Forca" was the theme song.
