The Da Vinci Code - Not that bad

So has anyone seen it, even though the reviews were bad?
Cuz I went to see it today.
I actually really liked it. I'd read the book and because of that I just really wanted to see it.
I thought they did a really good job making it into a movie.
I don't understand why the critics had to be so harsh. Cuz they make it like it's one of the worst movies ever made. But really, it wasn't that bad. I really enjoyed it.
I guess sometimes reviewers just suck and expect way too much.
Cuz they said there was too much talking and it was boring and the movie took way too long.
Okay, it was not perfect, but I never thought it was boring.
I guess some of them didn't like the book then either. Cuz a friend of the family said she had trouble reading the whole part where they explained everything about Maria Magdalene and the Grail and stuff. But I had no problem with that at all, i thought it was very intrigueing.
And the same with the movie, I just really liked that.

The end was a bit different, I don't know why they did that, cuz they left something out.
But I liked it and my mum who also read the book liked it too. Even my father thought it was exciting and he didn't read the book. He also still understood the story even though he didn't know what it was about before he saw it.
I guess soemtimes you really have to see a movie for yourself. Cuz there are a lot of movies which I just can enjoy. And I think that's what a good movie is all about.

Exactly. I so agree.

As far as that movie, i was wondering that myself, why they gave it bad reviews. I don't care..i still wanna see it. My boss just loaned me the book, but i haven't got a chance to read it. I'm just so anxious to see the movie though! lol, anyway, well thanx for ur review...hahha..that actually helps.

Re: The Da Vinci Code - Not that bad

I went to see this last weekend, the day it came out, and I went knowing absolutely nothing about what it was about, having never read the book myself. Pretty much the only reason I went because Audrey Tautou was in it - was a diferent sort of film to see her in.

BUT

i have to say i was majorly let down, and I really wouldn't recommened it to anyone. The story was predictable (even to sum1 who hasnt read the book) and far too long. I knew what was going to happen a good hour or so before it actually did. I'd have to agree with the critics on this one as far as the plot goes.

Actor performances are pretty good however, and I have to say Tom Hanks is quite likeable in the Da Vinci Code, usually I find him very same-y and sorta annoying.

Re: The Da Vinci Code - Not that bad

I?ve read the book and will probably watch the film some day..
but I prefer my science books..they break dogma?s and widen your view too but then in a way that can not be criticised for being unreal or purely provocative
