Um, I won't lie . . . I used to be a really big Christina-hata cause I was like "she's a dirty slut that can sing but get out of my face" but then I heard this song, "Walk Away" from Stripped sometime last year and I was basically converted and stood proud and strong as the secret X-Tina fan that I always sort of was but never wanted to admit. Anyway, the point of this is she performed "Walk Away" this February on Letterman and I've had the video for a while and just recently found a website where you can get the MP3 and I'm giving you all the link to do this because it's just really breathtaking. Even if you think you don't like X-Tina, download and listen to this version of the song (or even just the normal version) and you'll just want her to sing you to sleep every night with that heavenly voice.

Hehe I was just checking PMs but this topic caught my eye. It's my favourite Christina song too, however, not what got me into her. Took me ages to get into her and realise she wasn't just a Britney. I didn't know anything about her so when Beautiful came out I was like whoa then someone said she didn't write it I was like meh great. Then Voice Within came out I was like whoooooaaa so I looked up who wrote it and found she did and kept looking and saw she wrote most and saw what they were about etc so I had to get the album. It's all I've been listening to for a while now. I guess I can put up with Dirrty and maybe Fighter, which is strange since they were the singles, but I love everything else. However, I think I was just doing a routine listen to the album once and nothing really caught my eye except for I'm OK. That's what did it for me.

I love the powerful parts of her songs like "Every time I try to grasp for air, I am smothered in despair..." and just after it in Walk Away. I hear that and I honestly go back 30 seconds in the song just to hear that part again it's so amazing. I also feel the same way about "This isn't ordinary he's loving me for me" in Loving Me 4 Me too.

As for the Letterman Walk Away version, I've listened to the original about 100 times or more haha and I don't think it's anywhere near as good as the original to listen to but it still sounds like quite a performance and I'm on a mission to find the video hehe.

yea, isn't it amazing what a great album such a whore put out. I'm sorry, cheap one there. Okay, anyway, I loved her debut album but Stripped really got me. I loved the lyrics a lot and I was so proud that after not writing a single song on her debut, she wrote almost every single track on this new one. That really is just amazing to me. Walk Away is one of my favourites off of the album. I'm so mad that she isn't releasing anymore singles. I also love "Voice Within" b/c it reminds me so much of a Mariah Carey song "Vision of Love." I love all the songs. They are all heart-felt and sung very well. I'm glad you all like em too.

oh man, totally . . . I just listen to that part over and over again. my friends don't even think that part or the song itself is so incredible, but I just am always so taken back by the passion with which she sings and the sheer force of her voice. I have that video if you want, just tell me how I could send it to you.

I also love Christina, I always did. And I actually don't even have a problem with the way she dresses. I don't really care. It doesn't look slutty to me for some weird reason.

Bugger I can't hear it cause I don't have sound on my comp!I used to write her off as a cheap tart, until I listened to Stripped. I love walk away, and have since learnt how to play it on piano. Does anyone else like "I'm ok"? I was very moved by that song.

a little off topic but...

Christina did one kickass impression of Samantha Jones from Sex and the City during SNL. Her impression was even funnier than the other three! That was enough to win me over...hehe

Well, if you like Chris' voice you should hear "At Last" performed by her, is a good song. Should find it somewhere in Kazaa, not in any record that I know.

I thought that impression of Sam Jones was absolutely uncanny . . . although, I was discussing it with my friend and she said that although it was good, the effort that it took to do the impression showed through and you could tell it was really forced/hard for her to do it. I do agree with that, but even so, kudos x-tina for an awesome impression. and yes, please download "At Last" because it's just really out of this world
