"Build You Up" missing in song explainations

Does anyone know why "Build You Up" is missing from
nelly's folklore songs explaination she does on shitontheradio.com?

http://shitontheradio.com/folklore.htm

Isn't that strange, its also sad she never sings this song as well
as the "Childhood Dreams". "Build You Up" is one of my favorite songs
on the album, it's just not something I could listen to constantly
because I like it to remain powerful.

No I don't know. Maybe it's a love song for Jasper and she don't want to tell something about the song. Hmmm...who knows!

Maybe these songs are too difficult to bring live.

I know EXACTLY what you mean.

I personally think she won't talk about it because I think it IS a love song for Jasper (well, it's pretty obvious), and it seems to me like this song has connotations of an abusive childhood or otherwise very unhappy childhood. That kind of thing would remain personal and private.

If any song on Folklore is a love song to Japer, its "Childhood Dreams", because of the line that says...."your the little boy made for me in the stars" as for build you up it seems simular to the theme on "Shit On The Radio", 4 some reason it remind me a bit like it.

Check out THIS THREAD created by Tiff not long after Folklore's release. Her, Liv, myself and a few others discuss and suggest the meaning behind it.

Thanks a lot, Pete! That was funny - reading someone's thoughts that were almost equal to mine. For a long time I considered "Build You Up" as just-another-amazing-slow-song by my favourite artiste. I've never bothered looking for its hidden layers, like you have. Listening to it was a real pleasure, but I had never been as fascinated as by "Island of Wonder", for example. I reckon now I'm going to love "Build You Up" much more.

Re: "Build You Up" missing in song explainations

I think the most personal song on Folklore is Childhood Dreams, so I don't know why Build You Up is not on the song descriptions... maybe because of the reasons you have said, but I know that they made it very late, one of the producer was playing with the beat, she was asleep but woke up and just started improvisig the lyrics. Some of the original recording is on the cd. So maybe it wasn't finished when she wrote those description, but I don't know.. might be for some other reason...
