For The Best

Because I haven't posted/written a poem in WAAAAY TOO LONG!

This one is called 'For The Best' (as mentioned in the title)
I wrote it a couple of hours ago in the middle of the night, and I sad/confused about one certain person I know I'll never get over. The poem is all over the place, but then again, so I am. And this poem is one of my complete ones after my ten million year block, so I'm super open to criticism, if you will.

Why is it so hard to say I want you
When it was all our eyes ever said?
What ever happened to all the whispers,
the grins, the sighs and kisses
What ever happened to us, just you and me?
I've thought about calling you too many times
Thought about holding you until the sun came up
But I keep failing all of my hearts true desires
Because I'm wondering if it's for the best

Yeah, I've been thinking about you again
Accompanied by another song that reminds me of you
Brings back all the memories
All the secret grins and secret fantasies
All of it sends me back to that black hell
That I fell so deeply in love with, that I wanted to spend forever in
But where are we now, along this timeline
We're still so far from each other
And maybe, this path is for the best

You'd say it, and I'd do it
You'd wish it, and I'd do it
Gladly, I would've died for you
Sadly, I would've thrown myself away for you
And I did it, didn't I?
Lied for you, cried for you and died for you
Lived only just for you
I did it, I did it all for you
Even if you didn't ask me to
Even if you didn't want me to
I still did it...

Tell me, darling
Why is it so hard to accept this between us
When it was all we wanted for back then?
What happened to our honesty
Our undying honesty
That told me so much with the brush of your hand?
I've thought about it, thought about it too many times
Lost myself all over again and have never recovered
But I'll be understanding this soon
That these paths we've taken, the lives we choose
They'll be for the best
...I hope.

Oh my gosh Leesa, that was amazing, it actually made me cry (im in a very emotional mood at the moment), mostly because this poem reflects a lot of the feelings and thoughts that have been going back and forth through my mind over the past year about someone who, even now, i can't stop thinking about Grrrr
I love the way you write, you have a way with words that nobody else i know can match up to.

Totally loved it Leesa, it shows a really true way of our lives, not everything in this magical world is quite what it seems

I specially loved this part:

Now, being serious, I mean, I know we can have problems and stuff, but sometimes people act in such stupid ways, that they deserve for just a moment to go to hell and come back!

I know exactly what you mean Vittorio, its just that the people who hurt us most often don't realise the pain others go through for them. So they don't know to change, and we often can't bring ourselves to tell them to.
