Almost had another member pass away. ME!!

I got the flu a lil after 4th of july. I guess my flu turned into an infection in my heart. On top of that I had two holes in my heart and it was leaking into my lungs. I was not aware the holes in my heart. Anyway through the coming days I started having trouble breathing. I had to breath hard and fast in order to catch a breath because i couldn't harly breath. I let it go for like a day then I told my mom that she needed to take me to the hospital. Which was a good thing because they said if we had let it go any longer it reduced my chances of surviving.

July 9th i was admitted into the hospital. Tho I don't remember the drive to the hospital, I don't remember checking in. They said that I was sitting up and talking to the doctors but I don't remember any of it. All I remember is waking up with all these tubes on me. They had to perform open heart surgery on me. They had to suck everything out of my lungs. And afterward everything was working fine except my lungs. They told my mother if they couldn't get my lungs to work I wasn't gonna make it. They put me on this space bed(What i was told cuz i don't remember anything) And after the space bed my lungs started workin thank god..

When I first went in and got admitted. They had no other option but to do the surgery on my heart to close the holes. AFter the surgery I was in a coma for 9 days, I don't know if it was a coma or they just wanted to keep me sleepin. Either way it didn't feel like 9 days. It felt like when you go to sleep at night and then wake up the next day that's how it felt. That's how quick it was.

My family came up to see me from illinois. I was sleep those days so i don't remember. My two brothers who are 25 and 27 were crying.... The pastor from the church came and prayed over me. They had put tape over my eyes also to keep em closed, I don't know why they had to do that but I was told that was done. ANd i've got so many needle marks on me, so many bruises and marks... It's just terrible, there going away slowly which is good.

When I woke up and realise what happen. It was a nightmare. I wished that i was dreaming but I wasn't. On the coming days I was on so many drugs that I was halucinating daily. Seeing things that weren't there. Thinking things happened that never happened in the past. I also was fighting with my mom. I didn't know what was going on. I was afraid that i would be in the hospital forever and that i would never go back to my life. I was very afraid of that because all of it was new to me.

This is just the greatest obstacle that I've gone through in my life. I never in a million years imagined my summer like that. Never thought id be in a hospital for most of july. I'm still recovering, it's going to be a while before I can go back to work and move around like I want to. I just thank god it wasn't worse than it was.

Oh... God! That sounds terrible!! But at least it didn't have a sad ending... you're here and it's really great that you have the strenght and willing to live, you rock! Let's hope everything goes ok and you getting healthy and at full power soon

Thanks guys. it really was a scary experience. It's still scary it's truly somethin you don't expect, but it's almost like I felt it coming. I kept saying before it happened that I felt something coming. I kept saying in my mind like I don't know what it is but something is not right. But I'm glad to be here. That's definetly a life motivator..
