Re: 'All good things come to an end' - release date (uk)
Well, coming from a Garbage fan...
Who was disappointed with the public reception to the singles from their 4th album, the meticulously crafted ''Bleed Like Me''; I can safely say that Nelly Furtado should do this: ''Promiscuous'' a perfect summer #1 ''Maneater'' a perfect fall, in the warmth of clubs type jam ''Say It Right'' a perfect ballad for the winter with an icy beat. ''Glow/All Good Things'' for a great spring energetic sound. that would be my choosing. Seeing that Garbage's BLM album entered @ 4, with the massive rock hit Why Do You Love Me, then choosing Bleed Like Me a slow ballad in the summer was suicide. They should have follwed with Sex Is Not The Enemy or Run Baby Run, though they did not. As trends show, ballads soar in the winter/fall and upbeat breezy songs spring in spring/Summer. All good things is a good choice, but it's a grower. though I do think it has more staying power/longevity than Say It Right does. Say It Right has the beat, but AGTCTAE has the lyrics. hmmmm

Re: 'All good things come to an end' - release date (uk)
Am I the only one who thinks "All Good things" is not all that. It doesn't have the beat, and the music is just plain, nothing special. Don't even know why she included this in the album. And she doesn't put hardly any passion into it. And I don't think lyrics determine if a song is a hit or not. I mean, just look at "London Bridge", or "Promiscuous" for that matter: hits with bad or not so great lyrics.
Maneater is shaping up to be NOT a hit in USA. And I think I understand why. The versions I have heard on the radio so far have all been the album version, with the extended breakdown. Why? THIS IS A TERRIBLE CUT of this song. Slow and ponderous. Why not use the video version at least? The single should be like the TRL version she did on Sept 25, very uptempo. This performance was awsome. |

Re: 'All good things come to an end' - release date (uk)
^ I love the trance breakdown at the end of Maneater! I think it's too early to say that Maneater isn't shaping up to be a hit in the USA, especially since it's doing well on billboard and Itunes. Promiscuous took a while to become a hit. I use to love All Good Things, but I've played it so much it's kind of getting a little boring for me. I hope she releases Say it Right.

Re: 'All good things come to an end' - release date (uk)
its been the biggest sales gainer this week! she debuted at number 64, went to 30-somthing, now at 30. we cant expect the single to rocket up the charts with the same ferocity as promiscuous, because most of her fans will have bought the album already.
and plus, justin trousersnake is polluting the top 40 too. |

I reckon Afraid should be a single. I could just imagine a clip for it.
