Well, there's not much to say except . . . I'm speechless. Actually, thanks to the wonder that is west coast time, I already knew what was gonna happen, but that doesn't make it any less upsetting. Vaughn?! Where are you?! Someone hold me!

he he he. Vaughn is so boring.. I couldn't be more happy that Mr. Wrinkle is finally dead.


But anyway.. this are JJ Abrams words. "Alias is, perhaps typically, a puzzle this year, the Vaughn storyline is not what it seems, but that's all I can say, or the writers will kill me. They know where I live."

"It ain't over till the fat lady sings. You have to see what the story is. And when I said at the beginning of the year that [Vartan] is back this season, I wasn't lying. So, in the way that Alias does things that you might not expect it's typical of that. The conclusion people are coming to isn't exactly what it is. Watch carefully, because there are clues as to what's going to happen in the episodes. And if [Vaughn] happens not to be in the episode that you're watching, it doesn't mean he's not part of it."

Whoa I have just watched it. I've downloaded it today.
It was absolutely great.
I so don't know if Vaughn is dead.
You know, the funeral and all.
And the rumours that he would leave.
But you know, maybe it's a trick and he has to say all of those things.
Argh, with Alias you never know.
Bur right now, I just have to except he's dead.
He ain't coming back.
And if he does, we'll find out eventually.

I loved the way they shot him and the whole train blocking Sydney's view so she couldn't see it all happen. But I knew something was going to happen, the moment he walked away from her, right after their conversation about having a baby. Right then, I felt it, this would be the end of Vaughn. But what I didn;t expected is that he would still be alive after all this. But yeah, he had to come up with a name for the baby first.
But it was really sad for Sydney. Again, she lost her man.

And the ending. Very promising. Is Sydney going to team up with that René girl right now? And will she experience all things Vaughn did herself? By the way that woman looked really young for a 32 year old, she has a young sounding voice too.

And that blonde girl. That was her right, Rachel Nichols. I wonder what her character will be like.

It starting to kinda feel like a new Alias already. I also liked that Dixon mentioned Sd-6 and that Jack said something about him being in prison, which we saw at the beginning of season 3. Just a convermation that the writers, like us viewers, didn't forget all of that.

But I don't know what to say more. I'm glad it's back. It has only just begun, so I don't really know where they'll take us this season. I liked this episode, it was a great start. We had a bit of everything. And when I was watching Vaugh and Syd doing their spy work in Cape Town they really looked like a couple, and I thought, hey there they are, Vaughn and Sydney the real Mr. and Mrs. Smith.

By the way, didn't you also think this episode had the same kind of feeling like the pilot "Thruth Be Told". I thought it did. Especially at the funeral when Syd and Jack look at eachother, it reminded me of the end of the first ever episode, when she stands at, I could be wrong, but I thought it was at her mother's grave. Just after all of the chaos that happened before that the epsiode ended with just her and her dad, who was to her now a complete different person.
And in the first episode Danny was killed and now Vaughn. I really felt like this is Alias its new start. It's back, but it feels more fresh and new then it did before. And at the same time I already felt like I was in the middle of something big, like season 5 had already begun a couple of weeks ago. Just the whole interrogation with Vaughn and that man. This was the first time I really felt like I was kinda watching an old Alias again. It really felt like a pilot. Also because of the ending where Sydney meets Ren?. It was like, okay, "So It Begins".

Anyway... I liked it. But I do not think it was half good of any of the S1/S2 episodes. But still, I understand what you're talking about, it felt new, it felt fresh.. Like they have a good story to tell this time, not like S3 and S4. The only episode I felt like it had the old times quality since S3 was the one with Irina's return, which happens to be written by the same girls who wrote 501.


I thought Vaughn was going to die in the accident. Never thought he was going to be killed by the CIA... And he surviving all those 1000 shots was just like "Hey! Are you Superman or something ?" But anyway.. They choosed Isabelle!! I've always wanted this name for my daughter!! So cute.

The hospital scene was so sad... I never thought I was going to cry for a Tv show.
When the final episode of Alias airs.. it will be a disaster. I can already see the ocean of tears comming. And the cerimony on the church... I have to clap here for the writers. I've been noticing that little by little the emocional Sydney from S1 is becoming cold just like her dad after all she have been tru. We can see the character changing.


Elodie Bouchez did looked really young! I noticed that too.. Her voice is like a teenage girl. I'm excited to see how her character will be. I think she will be awesome.
But Rachel Nichols... I'm really, really upset about the way they introduced her! If they're expecting us to hate her(which I know they don't), then congratulations! I bet one million of people hate her already.
1. Show just her back with a hair looking exactly like the most hated person ever(Lauren) was really not a good ideia! Most of us immediatly thinked about Lauren on that scene.
2. Why the hell did she had to be the person who discovered where was Vaughn ?? People will think "If it wasn't for that bitch, Vaughn would be alive now."
3. She was helping the CIA boss just like Lauren did everything for her boss from NSA.

There was no need to introduce Rachel on this episode. And if her character happens to be another Lauren... It will be just horrible. I hope Rachel Nichols will have a little more chemistry with the cast then Melissa George had. Melissa just don't fit on Alias. And one Lauren is enough.


I don't know what to think. I have to watch a little mor episodes to have a conclusion if I like it or not. But just one thing... Its pretty obvious that its the final season of Alias.
So.. they better start to think about a finish for all the open storylines and not just create new ones.




JJ Abrams said to keep our eyes open cause there are clues to whats going to happen... So, reasons to believe Vaughn is still alive:

-Jack: "I''ll do everything I can to help you both."
-Sydney to Jack and Vaughn: "What are we gonna do?" then they cut the scene.
-Vaughn drinks that thing right before he "dies".
-Jack didn't hold Sydney after Vaughn died.
-The look Jack and Sydney did to each other on the hospital and on the church.
-The fact the no one dies on Alias.
-The fact the producers/cast/creator of the show already said he will be back.
-Vartan is still credited as part of the cast while Greg Gumberg is not.
-His coffin was closed.

I wanted to reply earlier, but the University got me reading all night, yesterday.

But anyway, yes I read every word you wrote.
Really interesting all the things you say at the end.
I didn't even look for clues.
I think Vaughn might still be alive, yes.
JUst because I always heard Michael Vartan say he loved workig on the show.
So, why would he leave?
I know the whole story about him not being who he really is, is far more interesting when he gets killed off at the beginning, so Sydney has to figure everything out herself.
But I don't think the writers would let him go, with never bringing him back.
And I also think Vartan would really like to come back too.
And all the rumors about Jennifer being the reason for him to quit are so not true.
That's just stupid.
People believe everything they read in magazines.
They worked together all of season 4 and that went good, right?
So why would there be problems now?

But about the clues.
Yes, I also saw the coffin was closed the whole ceremony, so you never know if Vaughn is in there.
And about Syd and Jack looking at eachother.
Maybe Syd asked Jack to arrange something for them, so that Vaughn would be save.
Maybe Jack hid him somewhere and were Syd and Jack looking at eachother, cuz they know what's really going on.
The whole scene where the docters come rushing in to save Vaughn could easily be a setup.
-Jack: "I''ll do everything I can to help you both."
Maybe he helped them already.

About Vaughn drinking that thing before he dies, haha, I don't think that's the case, but hey you never know.
And yes, I also saw that Greg Grunberg was mentioned as a Special Guest, and Vartan was still mentioned as a regular.
So why would they do that?
But maybe that was just for all the people that didn't know yet Vaughn would be killed, so at the beginning of this episode they didn't went like, hey, why is Vartan a Special Guest, instead of a regular. Than they would already know something was bout to happen to him.
But for more about that we have to watch next week.
If Vartans name is still with the regular cast then he WILL come back.
Maybe even sooner than everyone expects.
Cuz if he will come back and they bring him back somewhere at the end, than it would be what happened with Irina last season all over again.
It would just be the same.
I don;t think the writers would be so stupid to do that, so if he comes back, I expect something really different to happen.

I also thought it was strange how they introduced us to Rachel Nichols.
Her part in this episode was so short, they could have waited and give her a bigger, real, introduction, instead of just putting her there, like she was some kind of extra.
Anyone else could have said the things she said this episode, but yeah, maybe if she's supposed to be a bad girl, they wanted us viewers to know, by letting her help the enemy.
I haven't read much about her character, but I thought she was supposed to be the "new" Sydney.
I read that Sydney will send agents to do missions herself, because of her pregnancy, and I thought Rachel's character would be one of those agents, so I expected her to be a good girl, on Sydney's team.
I also thought Elodie Bouchez would be one of the new agents, but she's not.
She is a regular, though, so i really wonder what her role will be.
Maybe she joins the CIA, or stays a villan.
That new guy Balthazar Getty, we didn;t see him yet, right?

I didn't cry though, but that's jusy because I never cry when I'm looking a film or TV series, it just never happpens. Sometimes I would really like it, so I can really explain that it really did something to me, that I was really moved by what I saw.
I always here people saying that as a kid they cried when Bambi's mother died, but I never did.
I just thought it was a normal thing.
My eyes got a bit wet though, when Syd was running towards Vaughn and the train blocked her view.
But I think that was just because I had to yawn before that. I was kinda tired already, cuz I decided to watch the season 4 finale before watching the new episode.

But yeah, a great start for Alias.
I really hope this will not be Alias last season though, but I don;t think we could do anything about that.
But maybe it's better if it's the end, cuz I don;t think they can ever bring the excitement from season 1, 2 and 3 back.
By the way I still think they made a really big mistake with season 4, the self contained episodes and stuff.
I loved season 3, I think it was one of the most exciting seasons so far.
Every week I went crazy watching it.
I don;t think that will ever come back, but hey, maybe this time.
And maybe I just shouldn't expect to much anymore, else I will be really dissapointed.

You know what ? I think this is exactly the reason. Remember back on Season 1 when Sloane had to kill Emily but she saved her instead by giving her that wine with something inside that stopped her heart for a while or something and faked her death ? I think Jack and Sydney did the same with Vaughn.. Right after he drunk it, they both got all emocional like if they did something was going to happen.

But anywany.. If Vaughn is really dead. I think it can work.. Cause you know.. A happy Sydney isn't Sydney. I just hope it will not be tha same thing of Irina on S3.. with Irina being on the show without Lena being on the show.


And Rachel's character is good.. that's why I didn't like the introducion.. It gave her a Bitch air.


There's a upcoming episode called "Out of the Box" lol I wonder who will be out of what.

You know what, I totally forgot about that with Emily.
The more I think about all of these things, the more I think Vaugn is still alive, but what's so annoying is that we still don;t know it for sure.
And if he really is alive, than it would be cool if I don't know of his return, before I really see him on screen, cuz with Irina I knew she wasn't dead. I knew she was coming back, so I wasn't shocked when I at last saw her.
That would be cool, if they could bring him back without anyone knowing it.
So I'll be like, what the f..., I thought that guy was dead!

And yes it gave Rachel Nichols a bitch air, although I don't blame her for Vaughn's death, I mean, when I saw her passing information trough to that Gordon guy, I didn't thought of her as a bad person.
But maybe that was because I knew she would become a regular on the show.
I really just was like, hey, the new girl. It actually didn't even came to my mind that she is actually the reason Vaughn's dead, until you said it.

But hey, Sark do you know if he will return.
Are there any rumours about him, or will he never reappear.
He was the coolest bad guy, and he ain't dead, so they better bring him back, for some extra tension and conflict.
And Katya, I would like to see her show up too, even if it's just for one scene, Isabella Rosselini is just great.

And what I also forgot to say is that i really liked that this episode was really all about Sydney. For the first time I felt it was just all about her again. Cuz, last season it was just APO, a whole team, and lots of Nadia and at the end Rambaldi, you almost forgot the show is actually about Sydney, that she is the main character. So I liked that.
It was just all Syd again.
