I don't know about other places in the world, but at least in Canada (where I am from) and probably the U.S. too, because they're both places where a lot of people emigrate to, it's fairly common for immigrants to name their kids with English names when they start having children.
I think this especially applies to immigrants who have lived in North America for a while before having children here, because they've been more immersed in the culture here and their kids were born here, so may as well give them an English name cause they're common here. My parents are immigrants and I was born here and I have an English name, and a lot of people I know have immigrant parents and they were named English names too.
Anyway, that's just my personal experience and possible explanation
